    At the very top of the Serradenari parcel, the fruit grows for an exceptional Barolo, with which the young winemaker Giulia Negri has truly created a monument to herself. Marassio clearly benefits from the cool climate of Piedmont's high altitudes and will therefore hardly change its character even if the climate continues to change.

    Rose petals, fresh cherry mousse and fine spicy notes on the nose. Lively yet precise on the palate, with an aristocratic coolness in which cherries, spices and forest floor are concealed with great restraint and only hesitantly reveal their complexity. The tannins are still demanding and gripping when young, but you can already sense the finesse and elegance that this great wine will confidently display in the glass as it matures, without ever becoming loud.     "Flinty reductive notes dissipate to reveal pepper, raspberry and delicate floral scents of dog rose. This has a bit more flesh on its bones but is still elegantly midweight. The palate builds with red currant and rosehip intensity gently supported by a hint of oak. Dry, grainy tannins flex their lean, sinewy muscles towards the finish, where earthy liquorice root takes over." Decanter
