If you stumble across a vineyard by fate, then you might as well keep going. Luca Roagna, however, did what he had to do. He inherited this old vineyard, which was planted entirely with Timorasso, and as he immediately realised that he wanted to do something useful with it and was unfamiliar with this historic grape variety, he quickly asked Walter Massa, who had been dedicated to this rare variety for decades. And so, after just a few years, he succeeded in making a wine from it that more than rivalled those of his teacher!

Brilliant, clear straw yellow colour. Quince, citrus and a potpourri of yellow fruit on the nose. On the palate, this salinity is paired with a well-dosed woody flavour. The long maceration time gives this great white wine strength and persistence. "Transparent ruby red colour. The nose is reminiscent of a morning stroll through an oriental bazaar. The ethereal opening combines noble woods such as cedar and sandalwood until you enter the spice area and juniper mingles with black pepper and cardamom as well as dark tobacco. The fruit vendors cheerfully offer cherries, raspberry jelly and preserved hibiscus flowers, while the florists have small violets on display. One of the market vendors refreshes his bicycle chain with a bit of graphite and chews on a piece of liquorice with a smile. "Bright ruby red with light, orange-coloured reflections. Forest mushrooms, black and even a little white truffle on the nose, plus rosehip tea, redcurrant and blackberry. Freshly ground pepper and crushed juniper provide spice and plenty of ethereal flavours. Clear, bright and precise on the palate. The fruit is now much more prominent. Totally juicy and fortunately always flanked by the acidity structure. Invigorating, drinkable and lean. The fruit now appears small-berry and positively acidic on the palate.
