Marzadro's "bivitigno" grappa series, as the name suggests, always consists of two grape varieties that correspond in taste. Soft, elegant and very delicate grappa obtained from two marcs of white Trentino grapes, Chardonnay and Müller-Thurgau. Chardonnay is a grape variety grown in the suitable areas of Vallagarina (lower Trentino) at altitudes between 200 and 500 metres above sea level. Müller-Thurgau is grown on the Brentonico plateau, in some areas of the high hills of Vallagarina and in Val di Cembra. The skilful combination of these two varieties produces a very delicate grappa with a typical grassy fragrance and a gentle, fresh and particularly elegant structure. SUPERIORE.DE

Lagrein Sanct Valentin is the extremely popular mountain wine of South Tyrol in excellent Riserva quality. Deep dark red, complex aromas of coffee, cocoa and wild berries, full-bodied taste, strong and chocolaty. A dense, robust red wine with fine extract sweetness and good length. SUPERIORE.DE

Intensely aromatic grappa obtained from two marcs of white Trentino grapes, Gewürztraminer and Muscatel. The Muskateller comes from sunny soils of Vallagarina, mainly in the municipalities of Calliano and Besenello. Gewürztraminer, a grape variety native to South Tyrol, is grown in this region between 300 and 500 metres above sea level. The combination of these two varieties produces a wonderfully aromatic grappa with an intense floral scent of citrus notes and a harmonious, velvety structure. SUPERIORE.DE

"Forte" is a powerful grappa obtained from the grapes of two native red grape varieties of Trentino, Teroldego and Marzemino. The Teroldego marc comes from grapes grown in the Piana Rotaliana, an area dedicated to the production of this native variety. The marc of Marzemino comes from grapes grown in the hilly and partially hilly areas of Vallagarina (lower Trentino), on the right bank of the Adige, in the municipalities of Nomi, Mori and Isera, an excellent location for this typical grape variety. The expert union of these two varieties produces a powerful grappa with a pronounced aroma and rich structure, markedly persistent, robust and full-bodied. SUPERIORE.DE

Villa Gresti is an exciting cuvée of Merlot and Carménère that represents a very nice balance between fruit intensity, spice, ripe cherry and sweet tobacco. Praesulis Pinot Noir is the latest addition to Markus Prackwieser's wine family. Gentle, bright ruby red colour with a delicately brightening rim. The nose is characterised by appealing wild berries, blood orange and fresh cherries, followed by fine creamy notes and a toasted undertone. Sgarzon is a single vineyard, barely more than a kilometre from Morei as the crow flies, but here the Noce has deposited more sand in the upper layers of soil, the plot is more open and thus less protected from cold winds. The grapes ripen about a week later. Teroldego Sgarzon is fabulous, delicate and full of richness and energy from the attack to the final. The bouquet - an exciting blend of dark fruits, tobacco, flowers, liquorice, mint and minerals. Very clear, pure and clean on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE

Emilio and Elisabetta Foradori only press 8,000 bottles of Fuoripista Pinot Grigio from the biodynamic vineyards of the Campo Rotaliano site every year. The delicate pink-coloured wine is fermented for eight months on the skins in tinajas (Spanish amphorae), where it matures slowly to reveal the delicate character of Pinot Grigio and the forgotten diversity of Trentino. The grapes for Franz Haas' Petit Manseng stay on the vines for one week longer to ripen. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months in used barriques. Strong straw yellow. Nosiola - an ancient grape variety of Trentino - was once cultivated throughout the country. Today, its cultivation is limited to the mountains and valleys of Trento. The Nosiola grape produces wines of great finesse and longevity. Elisabetta's Nosiola also gains exceptional vigour and energy through biodynamics and ageing in amphora. Give the Nosiola time and be patient: Only after sufficient aeration and at a serving temperature of around 13 degrees does this white wine reveal its full potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2016 Alto Adige Baron Salvadori Baronesse Passito is a syrupy and sticky dessert wine with fragrant layers of candied orange peel, almond marzipan, sun-dried apricot and chestnut honey. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 12 months, but those characteristic notes of cinnamon and spice appear as distant afterthoughts and are evenly folded into the thick texture of the wine. This is a seriously delicious wine that is difficult to score because it stands so far apart in a group of peers. The intensity here is truly stratospheric. Only 3,000 precious bottles were made." The Teroldego from Foradori are all a great experience. Elisabetta makes extremely interesting wines from the autochthonous grape variety from the foot of the Dolomites. And they are purely organic and partly also in amphorae.

Morei (dark in the Trentino dialect) is an original red wine that is true to its terroir and yet irresistibly elegant and refined. Warm, dense and mineral like the soil on which it grows. Morei is protected from cold northerly winds by the nearby, abruptly rising rock faces. The rock stores heat during the day, which radiates to the vineyard at night. The soil here is very stony and therefore relatively warm, dense, dark and mineralised, just like the Morei Teroldego wine of the same name. The average age of the vines (30 years) also contributes to its depth of character. SUPERIORE.DE
