Wines from South Tyrol and Trentino

The "Buchholz" valley slopes above Salurn in the South Tyrolean lowlands were already documented in the historical cadastral cartography of 1858. This impressive Chardonnay comes from this terraced area of dolomite sedimentary rock at an altitude of 400 to 800 metres above sea level.

Greenish yellow, with a bouquet of banana and pineapple, sliced apple and wild herbs. Very juicy on the palate, inviting and stimulating to drink with its pretty palette of fruity flavours, fine minerality and a certain herbaceousness. Terlaner Cuvée (formerly Terlaner Classico) is the wine that best embodies the identity and personality of this iconic agricultural co-operative in South Tyrol. Since its founding in 1893, it has been closely linked to the history of the winery like no other wine. Since the 2013 vintage, the grapes have been sourced from selected vineyards in the Vorberg, Kreuth and Winkl vineyards. Aromas of tropical and passion fruit, peach, pear and sweet almonds are surrounded by a salty, mineral vein and give this wonderfully juicy white wine finesse and the pure character typical of Terlan. The name "Conus" comes from the Latin term for cone and refers to the Margreider Schuttkegel and its gentle slopes. The dolomitic limestone present there is an important prerequisite for the fruity and round character of this impressive red in Riserva quality. Cherry red with ruby reflexes. Dry warmth during the day and refreshing coolness at night - ideal conditions for a Gewürztraminer that is leaner and fresher at Weingut Falkenstein than is otherwise known from South Tyrol. Bright yellow. On the nose, ripe but never exuberant aromas of dried fruits, honey, a little scent of roses. Medium-bodied on the palate and extremely drinkable due to its relatively low residual sweetness. The long fermentation on the natural yeasts ensures a balanced and lean appearance here. The Blaue Zweigelt originates from Austria and is a rare grape variety in South Tyrol. Consistent yield regulation results in a strong red wine with velvety tannins and fine spice. Sparkling, rich straw yellow colour. Opens with fine spicy notes of aniseed and cloves, with plenty of mango and apricot. The vineyards are located around Margreid on a gentle slope between 220 and 350 m above sea level with a south-southeast orientation. The white, deep limestone gravel soil has a high humus content. Intense ruby red. In the warm bouquet blackberries, blueberries, cherry and balsamic notes. The palate is deep, dense, with spicy tannins and well-defined primary fruit. Since the 2020 vintage, Haberle has been called Versalto and is certified organic. Diversity as a focus: Versalto is characterised by geological, microclimatic and cultural contrasts. Its grapes come from the Haberlehof farm in Buchholz on the eastern side of the Adige Valley and from the opposite vineyards in Penon above Margreid. Both vineyards are situated at an altitude of around 500 metres and guarantee optimal conditions for the variety.

The Lageder family now only makes one Sauvignon Bianco, and it belongs to the "Compositions" line. It gets its complexity from the wide variety of different clones in the vineyards. The majority of these are situated at an altitude of over 400 metres and are based on limestone soil on the one hand and volcanic weathered rock on the other. The different source rocks and the variety of vines led the Lageders to name the wine. This is because it consists of fragments from the best organic and biodynamic vineyards, which are married to form a whole. Its salinity and crisp freshness are highly drinkable and make this fresh and sublime South Tyrolean Sauvignon Blanc a very special experience. SUPERIORE.DE
