The oldest indigenous red wine variety in South Tyrol, Vernatsch, finds its ideal location in the traditional St. Magdalena near Bolzano with its steep slopes interspersed with porphyry gravel. The almost flat vineyard sites of Gries near Bolzano feature sandy alluvial soils permeated by quartz porphyry. The Lagrein grapes that predominate in this fresh cuvée reach full maturity here thanks to the heat-retaining properties of the Bolzano valley basin and thus gain their typical velvety softness. These deep red grapes are pressed with very short skin contact and thus surprise with fruity-fresh aromas of cherries combined with a hint of almonds. With beautifully integrated acidity, this rosé goes particularly well with strong starters from South Tyrolean cuisine, fish dishes and summer-inspired dishes. SUPERIORE.DE

The vineyards are located in the village of Nalles at 330 to 400 metres above sea level, and if you look beyond the church tower, practically the entire mountain face is planted with Sauvignon Blanc. Magred (formerly Magré) is an extravagant white, reminiscent of a Grand Cru from Burgundy. Brilliant straw yellow in colour. The vineyards are located around Margreid on a gentle slope between 220 and 350 m above sea level with a south-southeast orientation. The white, deep limestone gravel soil has a high humus content. Radiant dark ruby red. Complex aroma of cherries, blackberries and liquorice. The taste is firm, yet very warm and round, the silky tannins excellently proportioned.
