The almost flat vineyards of Gries near Bolzano are characterised by sandy alluvial soils permeated by quartz porphyry. The Lagrein grapes, which predominate in this fresh cuvée, reach full ripeness here thanks to the heat-retaining properties of the Bolzano valley basin and thus gain their typical velvety softness. These deep red grapes are pressed with very short skin contact and surprise with fruity, fresh flavours of cherries combined with a hint of almonds.
