“Tradition” St. Magdalener Alto Adige DOC 2023
"St. Magdalener, a traditional cuvée made from the two indigenous grape varieties Vernatsch and Lagrein, once not only played a very important role in South Tyrolean viticulture, but was also one of the most famous Italian red wines. But even today, this fine, fruity and characteristically stylish red wine, which is named after the growing area around the wine village of St. Magdalena, has many fans and is currently being rediscovered by many a connoisseur." Rudi Kofler (cellar master Cantina Terlano)
Deep ruby red in colour, with a clear, superficial nose of black elderberries and cherries, rounded off with a bitter almond aroma and hints of violets. Fruity flavour, soft and elegant on the palate with a balanced acidity structure and a low tannin content for the Vernatsch variety. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense nose of blueberry yogurt and violet candy. The slightly confected fruit on the nose is balanced by a medium body, crisp acidity and crunchy tannins. Made in a reductive style." James Suckling

Terlaner Cuvée Alto Adige DOC 2023

Since the 2013 vintage, the grapes have been sourced from selected vineyards in the Vorberg, Kreuth and Winkl vineyards. Aromas of tropical and passion fruit, peach, pear and sweet almonds are surrounded by a salty, mineral vein and give this wonderfully juicy white wine finesse and the pure character typical of Terlan. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling straw yellow with green reflections. Delicately scented with beeswax, followed by pear and white flowers. Clear and precise on the palate, retronasal with notes of herbs, fine melting and medium pressure, salty, slender final." Falstaff
"This fresh, mineral white wine offers both expression and restraint, with a fine interplay between the well-cut acidity and flavours of yellow peach, glazed mandarin, pink grapefruit, green almond, jasmine and ground white pepper. Long and delicious, with a savoury note that cleanses the fragrant finish." Wine Spectator
"Lots of fresh flowers, lime, sliced apple and honeysuckle on the nose with notes of candied lemon and heather. Full-bodied with a slight phenolic tension, rich with lots of citrus peel and minerals on the finish. Concentrated and fresh." James Suckling

Flows creamy and with sweet fruit over the tongue, with refreshing acidity, great harmony and finesse through to the very long finish." Falstaff

The finish is long and fresh, leaving a slight savoury tension that leaves you wanting more." Vinous
"Delicate notes of white flowers and mountain herbs provide a subtle, savoury thread that winds through the flavours of kiwi, pear and tangerine in this vibrant white wine. “Gries” Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021
Deep dark violet colour. Tart black cherry and notes of violet candy, graphite and spicy herbs on the nose. Wonderfully velvety texture on the palate, powerful, savoury and with grippy tannins. Perfectly integrated wood, good structure and a justified hope for a long, mature life. SUPERIORE.DE
"Big, bold and beautiful, this wine states its case plainly with forward aromas of blackberry, violets, licorice and crushed stone. Seemingly hedonistic, the wine restrains itself on the palate with gamy and savory flavors that draw the attention deeper into the wine as it continues to develop with each minute in the glass finishing with a firm stamp of tannins on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"A fragrant version, with an expressive note of macerated boysenberries and a warm blend of baked cherry, fig cake, dried sage and cocoa powder. Fine, chalky tannins firm up the savoury finish with notes of olive, smoke and ground pepper." Wine Spectator

“Monticol” Blauburgunder Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021
The garnet-red Pinot Noir Monticol smells of blackberry and forest fruits, with fine tobacco flavours and coffee in the background. Delicate and well-balanced on the palate, silky tannins, long and slightly mineral on the finish. A great, elegant Pinot Noir. SUPERIORE.DE
"This harmonious red wine is light-footed, with fresh acidity and light, fine tannins that form a supple framework for delicate wild strawberry and cherry fruit, tea rose, Mediterranean scrub, graphite and mineral notes." Wine Spectator
"The 2021 Pinot Nero Riserva Monticol is dusty and understated, with carnations and rose petals emphasising dried strawberries. On the palate, it flows smoothly and delicately with mineral red berry fruit and liquid flowers that envelop the senses. Slightly tannic and crisp, the 2021 leaves the mouth watering as traces of liquorice and sour cherry fade." Vinous

“Nova Domus” Cuvée Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021
Noble, white cuvée made from Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Sauvignon, as majestic as the Terlan castle ruins of the same name. Powerful and complex, multi-faceted, exotic and mineral, this classic Terlaner brings out the advantages of the growing region with a strong character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, bright straw yellow colour with a green sparkle. Polished and very precise nose, opens with notes of ripe apple, some pear, then walnuts, but also grapefruit and subtle thyme spice in the background. Very tense on the palate, very precise, salty, with fine yellow fruit notes, lingers for a very long time, juicy." Falstaff
"The Terlaner Riserva Cuvée Nova Domus 2021 presents itself with an airy bouquet in which ground ginger mingles with dusty dried flowers, crushed green apples and spice flavours. The palate is lapped up by a silky texture and ripe fruit. Sour citrus notes provide a contrast, accompanied by lively acidity. The 2021 finishes full of youthful tension and with light tannins that leave a savoury sensation and a hint of bitter lemon peel that lead the taster back to the glass." Vinous
"Pretty aromas of hazelnut, beeswax and floral notes, yuzu, mandarin, preserved lemon and spices on the palate." Decanter
"Aromas of warmed pears with spices, delicate white flowers and the peel of lemons, limes and kumquats. On the palate, there is an invigorating acidity carried by citrus oils, fresh herbs and a pronounced sharpness that not only revitalises the palate but also the soul." Wine Enthusiast
"This is a very straightforward white wine with tension and acidity that kicks in at the end, giving it fantastic energy and length. It is medium to full-bodied with sliced pineapple, lemon and green apple before a lively finish. There are also undertones of lemongrass and tarragon. Complex and complete. Better after 2025, but already exciting to drink now." James Suckling

Limitation of 2 articles per customer“Quarz” Sauvignon Bianco Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2022
The grapes for Terlan's Ikonen wine come from vineyards at an altitude of 300 to 550 metres with volcanic porphyry rock. Powerful, attractively exotic bouquet with bright gooseberries, mango and pink grapefruit, backed by a captivating mineral flavour. There is also lemongrass and herbal, ethereal notes. On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied, but not overloaded, instead deeply spicy, smoky, with a mineral-salty structure, followed by green-herbal notes in the focussed, mineral final. Every year, Quarz is one of the best Italian Sauvignon Blancs in its full splendour. As always, Cantina Terlano shows a skilful winemaker's hand in guiding the natural flavours of the grape, but also in delivering a very elegant interpretation. SUPERIORE.DE
"The name Quarz is derived from the quartz inclusions in the porphyry. A powerful, smoky bouquet with fine Sauvignon Blanc fruit, blackcurrant, elderberry and hints of herbs and minerals. In the mouth, it is initially taut and tightly woven, but then also melting with a fine texture and marvellous accompanying mineral spice." Weinwisser
"Sparkling, light straw yellow with a greenish tinge. Finely characterised nose, opens with notes of gooseberries and fragrant elderflower, with spicy sage components in the background. Present, very well-developed fruit on the palate, extremely juicy with notes of white peach and lemon balm, very long, subtle salty notes on the final." Falstaff
"This lively, mineral white is long and graceful, with a hint of salinity that adds a delicious savoury note to the concentrated spectrum of nectarine, pink grapefruit granita, gooseberry, chive blossom and white pepper." Wine Spectator
"The Sauvignon Blanc Quarz 2022 is youthful and shy, opening with an airy bouquet of crushed stones mingling with dried flowers, a hint of petrol and nectarines. On the palate, it is a pure pleasure, soft and round, with juicy acidity and ripe citrus fruit mingling with salty, mineral notes. The 2022 finishes with excellent length and tension, leaving a hint of tart citrus notes. The 2022 is intense and made for the cellar." Vinous
"Aromas of fresh grass, lime and stone are followed by a medium body with bright acidity and a creamy texture. Intense, with plenty of length and flavour. Taut and polished." James Suckling

Dark, aromatic, full-bodied Lagrein Riserva. Smells of dark fruit, herbs, liquorice, toasted oak and minerals. Expansive and very generous on the palate, profound and endowed with marvellous minerality. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, shiny purple red with a fine rim. Dense and concentrated nose of fully ripe blackberries and cranberries, with dark chocolate and a hint of lavender. Smooth on the palate, concentrated fruit on a velvety carpet of tannins, still somewhat youthful, but of great elegance." Falstaff
"Deep cherry and plum flavours combine with sage, white pepper and cloves as the Porphyry Lagrein Riserva 2021 shimmers from the glass. Silky on the palate, the tension quickly increases as the tart wild berries saturate and the grippy tannins gather towards the end. The wine finishes with dramatic length and a powerful structure. Bitter notes of liquorice linger." Vinous
"Inviting aromas of balsamic, vanilla and clove; lush black fruits and smooth, rounded tannins on the palate." Decanter
"Creamy and fine-grained, with a supple palette of pureed blackberries, black cherry compote, violets, thyme and graphite notes. This medium to full-bodied version is elegant, with fine-grained tannins that define the lingering, savoury finish." Wine Spectator
"Lively and attractive on the nose, with dark berries, chocolate and hints of cured meat and sweet spices. Exciting and juicy with many layers, a medium to full body and fine, structured tannins. I like the mineral aspect, with notes of shells and crushed stones on the finish. Firm and long. It grows on the finish." James Suckling

“Gries” Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021 · MAGNUM
"It is very intense with flavours of tar, graphite, wet earth, mushrooms and bark, which develop into a full body with multi-layered tannins and a juicy finish." James Suckling

“Vorberg” Weißburgunder Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021 · MAGNUM
The rare Riserva Vorberg from Pinot Bianco is open, elegant and expressive. Brilliant straw yellow in colour with light green tones. Generous bouquet with delicately nuanced flavours of peach, apricot and spices. Cool, deep and with all the advantages of the grape variety on the palate. A noble Pinot Blanc with plenty of persistence and potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow, sparkling. Roasted hazelnuts and pine nuts on the nose, with fine resinous tones, then yellow fruit with hints of pear and sage on the finish. Hearty, pure, taut on the palate with racy acidity and well-integrated fruit, medium-bodied, round and fine on the finish." Falstaff
"Initially dominated by floral scents, camomile, jasmine, peach blossom. Then also quince, pear, candied pineapple, tart grapefruit. A melting palate, now clear fruit, juicy, spicy foundation, a little salty. Vertical style, focused in the centre of the mouth." Vinous
"An elegant, fine white wine with dense flavours of yellow plum, melon rind, chamomile and lemon wax. With a slightly chalky texture and mouth-watering acidity, it is long and supple, with grapefruit peel, ground pink pepper and mineral notes on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Restrained, with notes of white flowers and peach flavours, then to a palate of restrained oak, ripe melon and peach." Decanter
"The 2021 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg is youthfully upright, with an airy mix of wild herbs and dried flowers that fade into young peaches and apricots. The palate is seamlessly silky and serene, almost oily, with a lively acidity to balance and a depth of ripe fruit and mineral tones to satiate. The balance is perfect, lightly tannic and full of tension with a lemony concentration that puckers the cheeks as minty herbal notes fade. Green apple notes add a crisp sensation towards the end. This fantastic interpretation of the Vorberg will thrive in a cool cellar." Vinous
"Vorberg is one of the world's great Pinot Blancs and opens with a fragrant aroma of ripe pear, green apple and a hint of almond. On the palate, it is lively with an interplay of citrus and stone fruit, carried by a refreshing acidity. The wine culminates in a structured finish that covers the whole range of cuisine." Wine Enthusiast
"Restrained apricot skins, fairly neutral yet stylish, but with a floral bouquet that opens up. The attack is full and impressively vibrant, almost electric, with filigree elegance and a silky, weighted palate. Long and polished. This is incredible. Drink now or cellar for more complexity." Limitation of 1 articles per customer“Nova Domus” Cuvée Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021 · MAGNUM

The South Tyrolean municipality of Terlan, about halfway between Merano and Bolzano, combines the advantages of an alpine and Mediterranean climate. The combination of basic microclimatic conditions and the particularities of the soil promotes complex, highly personal and extremely long-lasting wines with a typical regional character, which are well preserved in the Terlan winery. As early as 1893, 24 winegrowers founded the production, sales and marketing association in this small village in the Etsch Valley, thus laying the foundation stone for one of the first winegrowers' cooperatives in South Tyrol. Today, the cooperative already has 143 members who cultivate a total of 162 hectares of vineyards in a committed and environmentally friendly manner.
The south- and south-west-facing, sun-drenched vineyards of the comrades, which begin at the foot of the Tschöggelberg mountain range, extend from gentle hilly areas in the valley floor reaching up to 250 metres to steep and 900-metre-high mountain slopes. The soils are sandy, stony and permeable. The lower sites are particularly suitable for Lagrein, Cabernet and other heavy red wines. Pinot blanc and white varieties, on the other hand, can be found in the higher geographical areas. During the ripening period, warm days and cool nights guarantee a balance of sugar, acidity and aromas. Every single vine of the winegrowers belonging to the Verbund is carefully classified in order to be able to meticulously determine the production quantity.
As one of the four managing directors of the Terlan winery, cellarmaster Rudi Kofler has a keen sense for developing autochthonous and internationally significant, strong, well-structured white and red wines with DOC status, which have a rich and ripe fruit component, in the sanctum of the house. The development and marketing of the - around 70 percent white - drops takes place in three quality lines.
Unique in Italy is the Cantina Terlano Wine Archive, with more than 20,000 bottles, the oldest of which dates back to the year of its foundation and each year a special tranche as "rarità" in small editions of approx. 3,500 bottles. The cooperative, which was published in 2015 by the journal "wine industry" was named Italy's number one for the third time in a row in a cooperative test and its chairman Georg Höller also works in the same function for the Association of South Tyrolean Wine Cooperatives. In 2008, he merged with Andrian Winery, which, however, retains its own brand. SUPERIORE.DE
"The meticulous classification of the vineyards of the individual winegrowers reflects the intimate relationship of this cooperative to its production area. The perfect interpretation of the various terroirs is the result of the stable and sustained success of these mineral, progressive wines, which glide calmly through the years, as shown by the stocks of old bottles that Sebastian Stocker has put back since time immemorial.“ Gambero Rosso
