“Lezér” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2023 (BIO)
Lezér means "light" and so it is - in the most delicate sense. Light ruby red in colour, red berries and an interesting hint of violets on the nose. Smoke, freshly cut wood and a fine creaminess on the palate. A thoroughly fresh red wine right through to the finish, which goes well with warm weather and uncomplicated Mediterranean cuisine, especially when slightly chilled. The ageing in different containers such as amphora, cement tank and wooden barrel gives it an additional appeal and an unmistakable profile. SUPERIORE.DE
"A supple balance of redcurrants, raspberries, a hint of lavender and fresh leaves on the nose. Juicy light red cherry on the palate, very fine, rather subtle tannins and an elegant, impressively integrated acidity structure. A summer red wine for the terrace. Best enjoyed slightly chilled." Vinum
"Fresh and crunchy, with red berries, pomegranate, dried orange peel and hibiscus. Medium-bodied and dry, with crushed stone minerality. Slightly chalky in the finish." James Suckling

“Sgarzon” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Sgarzon is a single vineyard, barely more than a kilometre from Morei as the crow flies, but here the Noce has deposited more sand in the upper layers of soil, the plot is more open and thus less protected from cold winds. The grapes ripen about a week later. Teroldego Sgarzon is fabulous, delicate and full of richness and energy from the attack to the final. The bouquet - an exciting blend of dark fruits, tobacco, flowers, liquorice, mint and minerals. Very clear, pure and clean on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"This rich, lively red is fragrant with floral and herb notes, with a zesty cracked peppercorn edge to the flavors of steeped raspberry, green plum, peach skin and heather. Plush tannins are sculpted and well-meshed, while savory accents of forest floor, iron and fresh earth drive the racy finish." Wine Spectator
"The Teroldego Sgarzon 2022 blossoms in the glass with a stunningly beautiful bouquet of dusty violet and lavender tones, wild blueberries and pine shavings. The texture is profound, with silky waves of ripe red and blue fruits flowing over a juicy stream of acidity. Crisp mineral tones add lovely depth and a hint of blood orange as the 2022 tapers off with tremendous length. An aftertaste of tart blackberries and gently grippy tannins linger. The 2022 Sgarzon has it all: depth, complexity, energy, power and structure. I love it." Vinous
"The red fruits are so pure and fresh, with citrus peel, white pepper and attractive minerality from gravel. It is medium-bodied, bright and very expressive. Juicy, taut and very long." James Suckling

“Fuoripista” Pinot Grigio Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Emilio and Elisabetta Foradori only press 8,000 bottles of Fuoripista Pinot Grigio from the biodynamic vineyards of the Campo Rotaliano site every year. The delicate pink-coloured wine is fermented for eight months on the skins in tinajas (Spanish amphorae), where it matures slowly to reveal the delicate character of Pinot Grigio and the forgotten diversity of Trentino. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pinot Grigio Fuoripista 2022 shows pink and orange tones and smells of wild strawberries and minty herbs. It has a soft texture with a core of zesty acidity and acidic citrus tones that keep the balance as crisp fruit trees spill across the palate. A mineral note lingers on the long, tense final, while a liquid, floral colour slowly fades. The 2022 is a refined example of Pinot Grigio Fuoripista that would benefit from a few more years in the bottle." Vinous
"This distinctive version is a light tawny hue, with wafts of dried marjoram and mace interwoven with flavors of creamed strawberry, white cherry and tobacco, with a subtle, salty underpinning. Fresh and well-cut, with good length and light, chalky texture on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Bright copper-orange colour. Fascinating and noble orange wine with cranberry, cantaloupe and flowers. Medium to full-bodied with beautiful, flattering phenolics and a long and flavourful finish showing apricots and oranges. Can age. One of the best orange wines from Italy. Made from organically grown grapes." James Suckling

“Morei” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
The Teroldego from Foradori are all a great experience. Elisabetta makes extremely interesting wines from the autochthonous grape variety from the foot of the Dolomites. And they are purely organic and partly also in amphorae.
Morei (dark in the Trentino dialect) is an original red wine that is true to its terroir and yet irresistibly elegant and refined. Warm, dense and mineral like the soil on which it grows. Morei is protected from cold northerly winds by the nearby, abruptly rising rock faces. The rock stores heat during the day, which radiates to the vineyard at night. The soil here is very stony and therefore relatively warm, dense, dark and mineralised, just like the Morei Teroldego wine of the same name. The average age of the vines (30 years) also contributes to its depth of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"There's an accessible feel to this open-knit, medium- to full-bodied red, showing good integration of the racy acidity and sinewy tannins with flavors of pureed blackberry, dried mint and black tea leaf, singed orange peel and milled white pepper. Enjoy this today or with short-term cellaring." Wine Spectator
"A beguiling blend of black raspberries, exotic spices, leather straps, cocoa and crushed stones makes the 2022 Teroldego Morei impossible to ignore. It's juicy and fresh, with a fine structure, crisp wild berries and zesty acidity that keeps the energy remarkably high. Tactile mineral tones add a pleasing crunch, while notes of white pepper and pomegranate linger over a bed of gently grippy tannins. The Morei 2022 seems more immediate than previous vintages, but its balance cannot be denied. The purity alone is fascinating." Vinous
"Purple red in the glass. Lively fruit on the nose, with bright raspberry and blackcurrant flavours, wrapped in aromatic herbs. The palate reveals crisp, integrated acidity and lightly framed tannins. Delicious and so fresh. Made from organically and biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification." James Suckling

“Fontanasanta” Nosiola Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Nosiola - an ancient grape variety of Trentino - was once cultivated throughout the country. Today, its cultivation is limited to the mountains and valleys of Trento. The Nosiola grape produces wines of great finesse and longevity. Elisabetta's Nosiola also gains exceptional vigour and energy through biodynamics and ageing in amphora. Give the Nosiola time and be patient: Only after sufficient aeration and at a serving temperature of around 13 degrees does this white wine reveal its full potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Broad and dry, with lightly chalky texture and lip-smacking acidity carrying notes of dehydrated white peach, pink grapefruit pith, heather and green almond. There's a zesty energy to the lasting finish of cracked white and pink peppercorn." Wine Spectator
"The Nosiola Fontanasanta 2022 seduces with a bouquet in which tropical citrus fruits and sweet spices mingle with nectarines and wet stone. It is a model of purity with zesty orange citrus and vibrant acidity on the attack, giving way to an array of exotic flowers and a hint of raw honey. The 2022 finishes long and colourful but is still remarkably fresh, leaving candied lime contrasting with sour melon. Wow, the Nosiola 2022 is a real treat that still maintains an impeccable balance." Vinous
"Crazy floral aromas of honeysuckle, sage, lemon blossom and sliced lemons that are strong and prominent on the nose and palate. Full-bodied with flavours of dried fruit and white apricot. Creamy texture. Lots of flavour." James Suckling

“Morei Cilindrica” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti (Riserva) IGT 2018 (BIO)
Morei (dark in Trentino dialect) is an original red wine that is true to its terroir and yet irresistibly elegant and refined. Warm, dense and mineral like the soil on which it grows. Morei is protected from cold northerly winds by the nearby, abruptly rising rock faces.
Morei Cilindrica is the Demeter-certified Teroldego cru in Riserva quality and a racy wine with intense and mineral-driven flavours. The vineyard is planted in an old river bed lying in rocks and sand. This and the 12 months of ageing in cylindrical amphorae give the site wine its terroir-typical, clear profile. SUPERIORE.DE
"Vibrant, wild, dark-red fruit, a little peppery. The tannins are extremely fine, especially for Teroldego, and increase the freshness of the fruit. pep, tender texture. Delicate and long." Jancis Robinson
"The 2018 Teroldego Morei Cilindrica smells of wild berries, melon and gravel. It is soft with a deep minerality, but also with juicy acids that create a lively and joyful feel, even as the tart wild berries saturate. It leaves a subtle layer of tannin and a hint of spice as it finishes dry and fresh. This limited edition version of Morei has spent an extra year on a Cilindrica Amphora, which essentially means two years of refinement." Vinous

“Granato” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO)
Granato has been an exceptional Teroldego for years: It convinces in the bouquet with its rich balsamic scent of sour cherries and red currants. Extract-rich and intense, powerful and extremely precise on the palate. A great wine that reflects the long-standing consistency and competence of this winemaker. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Teroldego Granato is so youthful yet so beautiful, rising from the glass with an infectiously spicy bouquet that is at times autumnal, at times savoury, mingling with dark red fruits. The palate is flooded with a wave of intense raspberries and wild berries that quickly saturate, but with a hint of sour citrus for a nice balance. A pretty inner sweetness lingers as it finishes structured and remarkably long with a refreshing hint of inner rose and wild strawberry that lingers on. It's powerful but also elegant and perfectly balanced for a long evolution." Vinous
"This wine shows deep red and dark berries with peppery notes, dark chocolate, hibiscus and grapefruit peel. Just a hint of cedar and smoked herbs. Full and concentrated, so stable and dense with lively, finely honed tannins and vibrant acidity giving the wine power and highlighting the savoury fruit and minerality. Very long and tense." James Suckling
"Iconic wine, one of the expressive peaks of Teroldego. Fermentation in open oak vats, ageing in acacia and cement casks, great freshness on the nose, redcurrants, touches of wild mint and rhubarb, on the palate it is dense-sweet, with a fruity-balsamic return and a finish on underbrush notes." Luca Gardini

“Granato” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2021 (BIO)
Granato has been an exceptional Teroldego for years: its bouquet is impressive with its rich, balsamic aroma of sour cherries and redcurrants. Rich in extract and intense, powerful and extremely precise on the palate. A great wine that reflects the many years of consistency and expertise of this winemaker. SUPERIORE.DE
"A graceful, enticing red, with aromas of violet, graphite and cigar box spices wafting through flavors of pureed blackberry and mulberry, rooibos tea leaf, plum skin and pomegranate seed. Long and supple, with seamless integration of the fine, lightly chalky tannins and bright acidity with the expressive profile. The lasting finish echoes floral and spice details." Wine Spectator
"Dark as night, the 2021 Teroldego Granato smoulders from the glass with an array of crushed ash stones and earthy tones that give way to black raspberry, mentholated herbs and exotic spices. Silky smooth yet full of savoury tension, it sweeps across the palate with tart wild berries and acidic citrus driven by vibrant acidity. The 2021 leaves the senses in primary concentration with a tart blackberry core and edgy tannins that continue to rumble. This particularly intense and tight-knit Granato will pay dividends in the cellar." Vinous

“Sgarzon” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Sgarzon is a single vineyard, barely more than a kilometre from Morei as the crow flies, but here the Noce has deposited more sand in the upper layers of soil, the plot is more open and thus less protected from cold winds. The grapes ripen about a week later. Teroldego Sgarzon is fabulous, delicate and full of richness and energy from the attack to the final. The bouquet - an exciting blend of dark fruits, tobacco, flowers, liquorice, mint and minerals. Very clear, pure and clean on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep purple red, very similar to the colour of the 2020, so no indication that it is a year older. The flavour is a little deeper and more intense compared to the 2020, perhaps less delicately aromatic, a little spicier. There's still that dark red fruit character, more dark (but not sweet) cherry, and the floral note is still there, but it's deeper and needs to be found rather than offering itself so freely. The tannins are a little firmer, but still with that superfine grain. There's tension and energy and a sense of life waiting to explode. Gently chewy texture and deliciously fresh on the finish. Juicy. Amazingly long." Jancis Robinson
"The Teroldego Sgarzon 2019 takes its time to open up in the glass, but the wait is worth it, as its bouquet consists of crushed ash stones, blackcurrants and exotic spices. As dark and brooding as its aroma, it is also surprisingly energetic and powerful on the palate. A mixture of piquant acidity and tart wild berries collide and create tension and contrasts. Sweet tannins and minerals hold the senses until the long and dramatic final, promising many more years of development. The 2019 Sgarzon is intense, but also playful. I can't wait to taste this vintage again in a few years." Vinous
"This red wine has an extreme mountain wine personality, expressed in an abundance of wild herb and cranberry flavours, crisp acidity and a taut body. Somehow the generous and slightly juicy tannins blend seamlessly into the wine's lean profile. Long, crisp and mineral finish." James Suckling

“Sgarzon” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Sgarzon is a single vineyard, hardly more than a kilometre from Morei as the crow flies, but here the Noce has deposited more sand in the upper soil layers, the plot is more open and thus less protected from cold winds. The grapes ripen about a week later. Teroldego Sgarzon is fabulous, filigree and yet full of richness and energy from the attack to the final. The bouquet – an exciting mix of dark fruits, tobacco, flowers, liquorice, mint and minerals. Very clear, pure and clean on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep crimson. Aromatic dark–red fruit, with minor highlights of dried wild flowers, possibly lavender as it opens in the glass, and a hint of crushed stones, though this last characteristic is more evident on the Morei. Instantly captivating on the palate with a combination of energising freshness and very fine tannins, dry, pulled tight like a bowstring. So clean in the mouth and refined. A delicate peony–like scent appears on the palate but there's also a refined darkness to the flavour. Incredibly long, pure and vibrant. Becomes more floral with air. Delicious, sensitive wine." Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Teroldego Sgarzon is remarkably pretty and finessed with crushed strawberries, roses and sweet smoke. This is silky and pliant with a cool–toned feel, complemented by lifting acidity and ripe mineral–tinged red berries. It leaves the palate watering for more, yet with a subtle tug of fine tannins and lingering sour cherry fruits. I don’t see the 2020 Sgarzon as a long–distance runner, yet it’s geared to give masses of pleasure over the medium term." Vinous
"Closed with a red wax capsule, the organic and biodynamic Foradori 2020 Teroldego Sgarzon shows a pretty dark color and rich saturation. Aromas include dark fruit, red beets, iodine, mahogany and perfumed teak wood. The wine is very savory with iron ore and rust, showing dark consistency and a strong set of aromas." Wine Advocate
"Incredibly vibrant wild–berry, wild–herb and savory aromas pour from the glass of this dangerously expressive teroldego red that has so much energy, it’s hard to understand how it stays in the glass. The mineral acidity and fine–grained tannins are beautifully interwoven on the very long, diamond–bright finish." James Suckling

“Fontanasanta” Nosiola Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box

“Morei” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
The Teroldego from Foradori are all a great experience. Elisabetta presses highly interesting wines from the autochthonous grape variety from the foot of the Dolomites. And they do so purely organically and partly in amphorae.
Morei (dark in Trentino dialect) is an original red wine, true to the terroir, and at the same time of irresistible elegance and finesse. Warm, dense and mineral like the soil on which it grows. Morei is protected from the cold north winds by the nearby steep rock faces. The rock stores heat during the day, which radiates to the vineyard at night. The soil here is very stony, therefore relatively warm, dense, dark, mineral, like the eponymous wine Morei Teroldego. The average age of the vines (30 years) also contributes to its depth of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep crimson. Slightly darker fruited and with less of the floral note of the Sgarzon 2020, just a touch of peony, more mineral (an impression of rock dust), sober, perhaps a little bigger in the mouth than the Sgarzon – the alcohol is a tiny bit higher but still pretty modest. Firmer, more rounded tannins but still extremely fine, and they are deeper and denser. Like the Sgarzon, there is outstanding purity and refinement. Beautifully fresh even if the freshness is less immediate than in the Sgarzon, it carries through on the long, long finish. Such incredible elegance in a young wine and the most delicious, dry, non-sweet and yet fruit-laden finish." Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Teroldego Morei is dark and inward, slowly blossoming in the glass with black cherries, balsam herbs, hints of cinnamon and clove. This is round in feel, yet with a reverberation of zesty acidity and inner spice. Depths of dark red fruits and minerals settle upon the senses, along with a coating of sweet tannin. Wow, the result is quite stunning, with a chiseled and almost-teeth-chattering feel through the finale. The 2020 is a very exciting vintage for Morei; a boost of warm vintage fruit adds depth to its usually-inward and structured persona. Enjoy a bottle now, but lose the rest for a few years in the cellar." Vinous
"A giant wave of ripe forest-berry aromas pours from the glass of this sensationally concentrated and silky teroldego red. There’s plenty of fresh tannin, but its already so well integrated that it feels like one of the fundamental forces of nature. Super-long, fine-grained, crushed-stone finish." James Suckling

"The 2021 Teroldego Morei is intense in the glass. Exotic spices and dark, dusty flowers offset crushed stone and dried cherry notes. The palate is flooded with ripe red fruits and mineral notes driven by zesty acidity. The grippy tannins assert themselves on the final, allowing purple flowers and clove notes to live on within. A touch of sour citrus perfectly underscores the experience." Vinous
"This is so lively, blooming with such purity of red and blue fruit, with hints of fresh violets, savory herbs, white pepper and savory, citrus undertones. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and vibrant with crunchy, very fine tannins and a structured, chalky backbone to it. Crushed stones. So much life and energy here with stunning acidity and a lingering, savory finish." James Suckling

"The Teroldego Sgarzon 2021 is an elegant beauty. Roses and cloves complement bright cherries and strawberries. It is silky through and through, balancing sweet red fruits and acidity for a perfectly harmonious red wine. The Sgarzon finishes remarkably fresh yet powerful and long, with a framework of gentle tannins and hints of liquorice and minerals that linger. The 2021 is possibly the finest interpretation of the Sgarzon to date." Vinous
"Engagingly fresh nose with white pepper, stems, blue fruit, longyan and some fine geraniums. Really crunchy and fresh on the palate with a linear medium body and pure dark cherry fruit. Chalky, firm tannins round it off before a pure-fruit finish. Long and succulent." James Suckling

The complex red drops of Elisabetta Foradori impressively reflect the philosophy of the highly respected winemaker. They combine typical regional grape varieties with the specific character of the vineyards and biodynamics. As unbending as she is experienced, the strong-willed landowner has never been satisfied with the favourable growing conditions of the Trentino. Rather, she has tirelessly studied and experimented with new methods in her vineyards and cellars that deviate significantly from the usual and support the rhythm of nature. Elisabetta Foradori, the rare Teroldego grape variety, native only to Trentino, has clearly become the most important grape variety in the vineyard and has helped to achieve international recognition.
As different as she works, as different is her retreat. Quiet and consistent. Her son Emilio Zierock has been responsible for vineyards and cellars since 2012. It was not clear for a long time that he would slip into the big shoes of his famous mother, but he first studied philosophy in Germany. Not quite inappropriate, because the management "FAVO - Foradori+Animali+Viticultura+Ortaggi" also a kind of philosophy. "We want to produce more than just wine. In this sense we try to close the cycle: human, animal and plant." Land in Brentonico (behind Monte Baldo in the south of Trentino) has already been bought, where the family wants to realize this vision together. Emilio and his brother Theo will take care of the winery in the future. Elisabetta Foradori takes care of the new start-ups: cows, cheese and vegetable cultivation, as well as the Ampeleia vineyard in the Maremma, which she also runs very successfully with a friend. The wines from this biodynamically cultivated winery are naturally to be found in our Tuscany programme (Maremma).
Surrounded by ancient stone walls, the Foradori Winery, certified by ICEA and Demeter since 2009, is located in the picturesque small municipality of Mezzolombardo. After the early death of her father, the exceptional Trentino winemaker took over her parents' vineyard at a young age. It prevailed despite the Cabernet wave, which was high at that time, and opted for the local tradition. The wonderful Teroldego ripens between rocky walls on lean, stony alluvial soils of the Campo Rotaliano in high plant density with low yields per hectare. For the white wines Nosiola and Manzoni Bianco, the Foradori family has leased plots in the hills northeast of the city of Trento.
Despite many years of experience and great success, the fashion trends are categorically rejecting "Grande Dame of the wines of Trentino" (Gambero Rosso) and her son Emilio are constantly refining the wines. Elisabetta Foradori decided years ago to ferment wines from the Morei, Sgarzon and Fontanasanta sites separately in clay vessels from Spain. Emilio consistently goes one step further. He eliminated practically all barriques and built his own cellar only for these amphorae. The heart of the old vaulted cellar are large wooden barrels made of various types of wood and from various renowned coopers, as well as a few steel tanks and concrete cisterns. In this way Emilio Zierock can choose for each vintage and for each individual vineyard the vessel in which he will allow the best maturation of the wine without having to intervene. The exchange went on quietly and quietly. And continues in the new - actually ancient - philosophy of the cycle of nature. Cross-generational. SUPERIORE.DE
