Adjacent to the Kolbenhof there is an extremely steep vineyard, "Leiten" in South Tyrol, which is more south-facing. It descends into the deep gorge of the Hell Valley and is exposed to a very special microclimate. Thanks to the persistent coolness, the grapes ripen slowly and are harvested by hand only in November. They are then overripe and particularly tasty - ideal for the Gewürztraminer Spätlese Rechtenthaler Schloßleiten.

Opulent fruit aromas such as highly ripe apricots, Williams pear, blossom honey, acacia. In the glass, it presents itself with a highly concentrated aroma and acidity, expansive and dense. The fruit sweetness remains opulent and elegant on the palate for a long time. SUPERIORE.DE

This dry Gewürztraminer from the Pirchschrait single vineyard at Kolbenhof is a tribute to Konrad Oberhofer, who was the first to vinify the grapes from individual vineyards separately in the 1930s. Martin Foradori Hofstätter's grandfather was a pioneer of vineyard thinking. His goal was to make the special character of each site tangible in the wine.

After ten years of maturation on the fine yeast in Liters barrels, the Gewürztraminer develops a dense texture without losing freshness. The fine yeast also gives it a charming aroma of toasted bread, medlars, blossom honey and dried fruits. In contrast, the already low fruit sweetness recedes discreetly during the years of ageing, while the minerality gains in expression. The year 2016 was very good for Pinot Noir and for the Roccolo vineyard at Ansitz Barthenau on the Mazon plateau. Particularly rich grapes from vines that are more than 70 years old and tend to grow on the traditional pergola were to be reserved for a new top wine. They were harvested separately, pressed separately and matured in small oak barrels and are only made into the single-vineyard wine "Roccolo" in the best vintages.

It convinces with its smooth, filigree acid structure, the backbone of every Burgundy. Martin Foradori's "Burgundy instinct" had pointed him in the right direction; working late into the evening had paid off. "The 2017 Pinot Nero Vigna Roccolo takes its time opening in the glass, at first blowing off some youthful reduction, then delivering a gorgeous mix of dried strawberries and roses in an air of crushed stone. The textures are unreal, silky and soothing, yet deep, ushering in masses of ripe red berries and sweet spices. This leaves a saturation of primary concentration while tapering off with grippy tannins, yet still, it’s remarkably fresh. In South Tyrol, the "Vigna" classification guarantees the origin of a single-vineyard wine. This Sauvignon is a selection of the best grapes from the Oberkerschbaum estate in Buchholz/Salorno at an altitude of around 800 metres. Thanks to the special microclimate, the ideal orientation and the challenging altitude, the Oberkerschbaum estate is one of the most exciting cru sites for South Tyrolean Sauvignon.

Intense straw yellow colour with delicate greenish reflections. Aromas of ripe citrus fruits, grapefruit and bergamot mingle with delicate scents of flint and nettle. This fruitiness continues on the palate - Oberkerschbaum is a Sauvignon of harmonious complexity which, despite its racy acidity, never seems too lean and completely convinces us with its aromatic length.
