Vermentino Toscana IGT 2023 (BIO)
The vineyards are 15 metres above sea level on a westerly exposure on river sediment soils with a sandy texture. The coastal sun shines through in the straw-yellow nuances of this wine. On the fresh bouquet, notes of lemon, freshly cut green apples, along with hints of mint and sage; these Mediterranean impressions are also found on the palate. A tasty, persistent and very versatile Vermentino from western Tuscany. SUPERIORE.DE

Bolgheri Rosso DOC 2021 (BIO)
Dark red in colour with bright violet reflections. The nose is pleasant and beautifully articulated with sensations of red and black fruits, including blackcurrants and ripe cherries. After further aeration, flavours of flowers and black pepper follow. Soft, well-integrated tannins on the palate, followed by an energetic and viral finish with red fruits in the aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE
"Cosy bouquet of wild berries, nougat and wood; juicy on the palate, noticeable acidity, fresh berry final." Vinum
"Cedar nose with lots of sandalwood, tobacco and game to the spiced cherries and olives. Crisp and medium-bodied on the palate with a fluid and juicy finish. Would be rated even higher if there was more substance and volume in the centre of the palate." James Suckling
"The 2021 Tenuta le Colonne Bolgheri Organic Rosso has a bright bouquet with spice and caramel over a medium-heavy texture and high fruit weight. There is plenty of dried herbs with dark berry fruit. It offers good freshness with a soft mouthfeel and sweet tannins." Wine Advocate
"Intense aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, orange peel and wild rosemary characterise this solid red wine, which firms up with a line of tannins that meld with the finish where the fruit lingers." Wine Spectator

Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC 2019 (BIO)
Tenuta le Colonne Bolgheri Superiore comes from a beautiful vineyard just a stone's throw from the pine-lined coast. Intense, impenetrable ruby red. On the complex bouquet, dark fruits with distinct notes of blackcurrants and blueberries, accompanied by spicy notes, coffee and graphite. On the palate, energetic and refined at the same time, concentrated and powerful, just as complex yet beautifully balanced as on the nose and very long-lasting as it progresses. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ruby red and leafy-scented, full of fresh notes of rosemary and lavender, pipe tobacco and a balsamic touch. Multifaceted and complex, dense and fresh, it shows a delicate rose aroma with dense, youthful and crisp cassis and red cherry. It's edgy, but the toasty flavours make for a lovely finish." Decanter
"An elegant, lively red wine characterised by aromas of mint, wild rosemary and eucalyptus. It offers flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, violets and minerals that unfold on the palate in a lingering finish. Balanced and will be even better in a year or two." Wine Spectator
"The Tenuta le Colonne 2019 Bolgheri Superiore is a small production of 6,000 bottles from a site with sandy, gravelly soils. It shows pure aromas of black fruits, dried blueberries, toasted oak, cherry and gravel. Soft-textured and medium to full-bodied, this red also shows lovely hints of earth, forest floor and delicate blue flowers." Wine Advocate

No other winery in Bolgheri is as close to the sea as Tenuta Le Colonne. The sun-kissed vines thrive here just a few metres from the beaches of San Vincenzo and benefit from the fresh sea breeze. In the midst of this unspoilt nature, the winery in Donoratico, the southernmost district of Bolgheri, produces an extremely fine range of wines.
On 60 hectares of vineyards, the French grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Merlot thrive and have found their ideal home in Tuscany. The only exception is the indigenous Vermentino grape, which is grown in close proximity to the sea and reflects the full-bodied white wine character of Bolgheri. The soils are of marine and volcanic origin and make this Tuscan growing area so incredibly diverse.
No wonder, then, that Argentine entrepreneur Alejandro Bulgheroni wanted to settle in this world-famous wine region. His company Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards (ABFV) acquired the picturesque Le Colonne vineyard in 2016. Together with his team, he revolutionised the entire business in oenological terms in the following years and introduced sustainable production methods. Since then, the careful management of the vineyards has produced full-bodied organic wines that regularly win awards from the trade press.
From the refined red wine Plenum IGT to the velvety Bolgheri Superiore DOC, all bottles show the impressive level of quality for which Bulgheroni's other wineries are also known. In Chianti Classico as well as in Montalcino in France or in Napa Valley in California, they remain true to the guidelines of sustainability. The enhancement of the terroir always has top priority, which also has a noticeable effect on the wine quality.
In order to preserve the natural character of the grape varieties, no barriques are used for the maturation of the red wines - contrary to the trend in the region. Instead, only large used oak barrels are used. In addition, cement barrels are used for the summer rosé and the Vermentino, which makes the wines so incredibly drinky.
Bulgheroni undoubtedly has a knack for unique wineries. Between the green of the pines and the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea that surrounds the stylish Tenuta Le Colonne, the talented team produces the very Tuscan Bordeaux style we love Bolgheri for. SUPERIORE.DE
