Dark, translucent ruby red in the glass, elegant even at first glance. An inviting aroma of red and black fruit flavours, almost a mix of wild berries and sour cherries. And then again that spiciness so typical of Tenuta di Valgiano, herbaceous and mineral, fresh and yet Mediterranean, simply incomparable. Full-bodied on the palate, very juicy, extracted sweet fruit, again accompanied by this mineral flavour. Rocca di Frassinello's red cru "San Germano" is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small percentage of Sangioveto grapes grown on the hill of the same name, which is also the estate's highest location, where vines were cultivated by the ancient Etruscans around 3,000 years ago. A millennia-old history that has enabled the plants to select themselves and naturally develop their defences against climatic and biological adversities, resulting in healthier and higher quality grapes.
