“Giusto di Notri” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
The excellent Cabernet-Merlot blend Giusto di Notri is a concentrated wine with an intense, rich flavour. A perfectly balanced bouquet of blackberry, blackcurrant and fine herbal spice. Compact on the palate with a well-tempered balance between fruit and oak, plus a distinctive tannin, promising and powerful in the final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, deep, dark ruby-purple colour. Present and rich nose, inspiring with notes of blackcurrant, mulberry and blackberry, spicy cedar wood, some grape sugar. Fine-meshed tannin, unfolds continuously, shows full grip, clear, dark berry fruit, firm pressure on the final, good freshness and juiciness." Falstaff
"Black currant, blackberry, plum, violet, green olive, graphite and wild rosemary aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this impressive red, which is lively and refreshing, with dense tannins gripping the long, oak-tinged finish." Wine Spectator
"Intense aromas of redcurrant, sweet tobacco, lead pencil and terracotta. Medium to full body with polished tannins that are very well integrated into the wine. It is racy and long with lovely mocha and subtle fruit on the finish." James Suckling
"The 2021 Giusto di Notri consists of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Intensity and depth are beautifully emphasised here. This benefits the complexity and flavours. The vintage also offers more freshness and balanced tannins. This is a beautiful wine that is designed for long cellaring." Wine Advocate

Aleatico Passito Toscana IGT s.a. dolce · 0,5l in OWC
The Aleatico grapes for this very small edition (< 500 hand-numbered bottles) dry slightly on the vine when they are harvested. They are then subjected to further drying in well-ventilated rooms for about 45 days, as in the production of Amarone. The first fermentation takes place in stainless steel, the further course then in new small wooden barrels of medium toasting.
Intense garnet red, primary aromas on the nose such as roses, dried apricots and ripe black fruits, plus a spicy herbal note and wonderfully integrated wood. On the palate, complex, full of character, with great consistency and personality, the exciting correspondence of residual sweetness and natural acidity makes it a highly balanced, almost hedonistic meditation wine of great rarity value. Compact on the palate with a well-tempered balance between fruit and oak, plus a distinctive tannin, promising and powerful in the final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful ruby colour with violet shimmer. Concentrated nose with appealing notes of blackberry, mulberry, dark currant and some cardamom. Very good presence on the palate, dense tannins in many layers, builds up well, firm pressure, still slightly drying on the final." Falstaff
"Plenty of berry and chocolate fruit with some subtle hazelnut and spice undertones. Dried flowers, too. Medium-bodied with a pretty core of fruit and a savory, succulent finish. Herbs with chocolate at the end. Solid center-palate. Needs three or four years to mellow, but it’s already very attractive." James Suckling

“Nardo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
The uncompromisingly selected grapes come from the oldest vineyards of the winery. Dark and powerful, yet highly elegant aromas of wild cherries, spices, liquorice, cassis and leather with exceptional balance and purity. A radiant, cosmopolitan Italian. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Nardo is a wild, powerful wine. Dark red fruit, menthol, licorice, spice, game, grilled herbs, earthiness and tobacco add to an impression of rusticity. The 2020 is quite the bruiser. " Vinous
"Powerful ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Presents itself in the nose with intense notes of plums, pickled cherries and some tobacco. Gripping, gripping tannin, lots of sweet fruit melt, still a little rough on the final." Falstaff
"This wine has a dark core of black fruits with grilled rosemary or curry leaves in the background. There are also elegant mineral tones reminiscent of pencil shavings or even a hint of rusty iron. The palate is dry and quite firm with fruit and oak tannins." Wine Advocate
"A wine with beautiful, crisp purple fruits, fresh raspberries and citrus fruits. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a crisp and lively finish. Lots of fruit on the finish. Needs a little time to open up but is already refreshing and delicious." James Suckling

“Nardo” Rosso Costa Toscana IGT 2021
The uncompromisingly selected grapes come from the oldest vineyards of the winery. Dark and powerful, yet highly elegant aromas of wild cherries, spices, liquorice, cassis and leather with exceptional balance and purity. A radiant, cosmopolitan Italian. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, elegant ruby red. Fruity nose, red berry, freshly baked bread, some graphite, sealing wax, still very youthful. On the palate with a hearty attack and course, nobly embedded in the wood, punchy, clear, expressive, will age well, put away." Falstaff
"Delicate and perfumed with cherries and forest fruits as well as strawberries. A touch of coffee. Medium-bodied with crunchy fruit and fine tannins that give a silky texture and lovely length. Fruit with earth and spice. Some raw meat. Enticing now but will be even better in two or three years. Some whole berry and whole cluster fermentation with the sangiovese. Precise." James Suckling
"The 2021 Nardo is elegant, finessed and classy to the core. White pepper, chalk, mint, blood orange, dried flowers and cedar give the 2021 striking aromatic presence and energy. I don’t remember a Nardo with much translucent energy. Readers will want to cellar this for at least a few years." Vinous

“Tenuta di Valgiano” Rosso Colline Lucchesi DOC 2017
Dark, translucent ruby red shimmers in the glass, looks elegant at first sight. Inviting scent of red and black fruit aromas, almost a forest berry mix with sour cherries. And then again this spiciness so typical for Tenuta di Valgiano, herbal and mineral, fresh and yet Mediterranean, simply incomparable. On the palate, full-bodied, very juicy, extract-sweet fruit, again accompanied by this mineral spiciness. Juicy, deep, with silky elegant tannin structure, with wonderfully balanced fruit-acid play. A wine with finesse and piquancy, length and ageing potential for a good fifteen to twenty years. This wine should be decanted and allowed to breathe in the carafe for at least one to two hours before drinking. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby with a light garnet edge. Opens with emphatically ripe notes on the nose, of dried plums, lots of blackberry, some cassis. Finely woven tannin on the palate, builds up in many layers, plus well-integrated sweet melting, long and smooth." Falstaff
"The 2017 Tenuta di Valgiano is dense, powerful and beautifully resonant in the glass. There's plenty of richness, but also a feeling of translucence I find quite intriguing. Sweet dried cherry, cedar, tobacco, mint and dried flowers open with a bit of coaxing. The 2017 is a gorgeous wine." Vinous
"The aromas of violets, berries, tar and sandalwood give a perfumed and subtle impression. Full-bodied with a firm, racy tannin structure and a long, curated finish. Shows freshness and tension for this hot vintage. Serious. Drink after 2025." James Suckling

“Saffredi” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
Deep, dark ruby red colour. Floral nose with lots of red, warm fruit and delicate herbal notes. Smooth and elegant on the palate with wonderful depth and complexity with notes of black cherry, herbs, violets, plums and a hint of tar and leather. Saffredi literally sneaks up on you until it fades into a very long and harmonious finish with an impressive presence and finesse. One of Italy's great wines, full of elegance! SUPERIORE.DE
"Still slightly closed. Very multi-faceted on the nose, despite the hot and dry vintage with cool accents, balsamic and herbal-spicy notes, liquorice and pencil lead, certain Bordeaux allure. Quite linear on the palate with a juicy, intense attack, still very youthful fruit, healthy, polished tannin structure, finely arranged and detailed, this will be another great Saffredi." Weinwisser
"Well structured and linear, this red frames a core of black currant and black cherry fruit with accents of toasty oak, sweet spices, tobacco and iron. Refined and harmonious, with the stuffing to develop over the next decade." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Saffredi shows a very ripe and rich interpretation of this iconic wine made by Elisabetta Geppetti and her family. The blend of fruit is the same, but 2020 actually has less oak use to allow the dark fruit to shine through. You'll find blackberries, fragrant roses, dried apricots, spices and sweet cinnamon. All in all, the wine offers immediate fruit and a vertical delivery of flavours." Wine Advocate
"A rich, juicy nose presents a handful of cherries and mulberries, along with slices of passion fruit, but a fresh spice keeps the sweetness in check. On the palate, dark chocolate adds depth to the wine, while tannins and acidity attack in tandem. Bold and confident - a precise wine." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2020 Saffredi is compelling. Deep yet quite structured, the 2020 is unlike any other Saffredi I can recall tasting because of its balance of intense dark fruit and vertical structure. Plum, blackberry, pencil shavings, lavender and spice saturate the palate." Vinous
"Grand Cru from the coast made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Multi-faceted, dynamic nose with notes of blackcurrant, undergrowth, rosemary and liquorice; full-bodied structure with perfectly structured, tightly woven tannins, balanced by plenty of freshness, also mineral salinity, long and full of esprit." Vinum
"Impressive aromas of fresh herbs from the Tuscan coast, such as sage, mint, rosemary and thyme. Also blackcurrants. Full-bodied with fine, chewy tannins that have lovely length and texture. Racy and beautiful, with plenty of subtle and refined character. There is a little more Cabernet Sauvignon in this year, which adds class to the wine. Give this wine about three or four years of bottle age." James Suckling
"Bright ruby red colour. Initially a nose of freshly baked black bread, cranberries, fine earthy notes, a hint of dark chocolate, fragrant precious wood in the aftertaste. Juicy, clear, radiant, present on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, comes back continuously juicy, great length!" Falstaff

“Gabbro” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
Gabbro is the essence of Montepeloso's finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, the vines are over 40 years old. Impressively complex bouquet of dark fruits, smoke and grilled vegetables. Powerful and muscular on the palate, revealing its pedigree and great class. Exquisite, complex, nuanced, persistent, long ... Gabbro really does offer everything you need for an unforgettable wine experience at world-class Cabernet level. Only 2,500 bottles were produced. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, deep dark ruby colour. Opens with fine notes of mint, some chocolate, fresh dark currant. Firm and gripping tannins on the palate, good tension, lots of pressure on the final." Falstaff
"The 2020 Gabbro is great. Montepeloso's bold Cabernet Sauvignon delivers tons of varietal character and savoury intensity with less opulence than most years. Dark fruit leather, liquorice, smoke, tobacco and incense lead into a sombre finish. The tannins are also powerful here." Vinous
"A rich and juicy red wine with plum and chocolate flavours. Also some fresh sage. It is full and complex, but remains bright and lively. A hint of herbs and dark fruit at the end, as well as earth." James Suckling
"The Gabbro 2020 (made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is ripe, rich and smooth. This wine pushes the boundaries in all directions (including a hefty 15% alcohol content). Black fruits and baked plums hide hints of dried herbs or rosemary, but the texture of the wine is what ultimately sets this hot vintage apart." Wine Advocate

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2018
Here comes the second vintage of Tua Rita's new wine from the Alta Maremma. Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah will be bottled, aged (on the skins) for half a year in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Radiant ruby red. On the nose, a seductive mix of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a subtle liquorice note. On the palate, cherry again, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acid structure and fine-grained tannins guide the precisely composed wine into a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Great! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby with brightening rim. Very clear and inviting note with hints of raspberry and clove, some Szechuan pepper, also spicy rosemary. Lots of present fruit, also lots of raspberry on the palate, firm tannin, grippy on the final." Falstaff
"The 2018 Keir very much stands out in this set of new releases from Tua Rita. A passion project and something of an intellectual challenge accepted mutually by Stefano Frascolla and Luca D'Attoma, this is Syrah fermented in Tuscan amphorae with six months of skin contact. This vintage is especially delicate and pure, and one important reason for this is the growing season that was extended by 15 days in this 2018 vintage. That extra time allowed the fruit to mature slowly according to its own time table. This is a luxury that is appreciated by Syrah in particular. The wine emerges with delicate, almost fragile aromas of wild rose, wet earth, violets and crushed black pepper. Syrah is very expressive of territory and vintage, and this wine speak of classic Tuscany. It is naked in its purity." Wine Advocate
"The first vintage of Keir in 2016 signalled a new style of wine for Tua Rita: 100% Syrah fermented and macerated on the skins for six months in terracotta amphorae. This 2018 has mineral, gun-flinty aromas but with lively, pure flavours of brambles, smoke and liquorice. It has a beautifully elegant, gossamer palate with very fine-textured tannins." Decanter

Chardonnay Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Bright golden colour, explosive aromas of quince, honey, wax, granite, blood orange, vanilla, white chocolate and straw on the full bouquet. On the palate, initial notes of roasted cashew and almond, followed by fruits such as white peach, pear and citrus. Exciting and very multi-faceted. SUPERIORE.DE
"The organic Monteverro 2020 Chardonnay offers a soft and supple character with orchard fruit, quince, pear and mild spice. This wine has a Burgundian quality, especially in terms of mouthfeel and texture, but it reveals its Italian roots thanks to the electric and vibrant notes of citrus and Mediterranean herbs that also appear." Wine Advocate
"Nice, toasty spice with ripe white peaches and mangoes, as well as walnuts and dried summer herbs. Also some freshly baked bread crust. Full-bodied, creamy and mouth-filling. The clean acidity comes through well with its phenolic and mineral nature. I like the racy cut of the spicy herbs on the finish." James Suckling
"Multi-layered nose of peaches, pome fruit, pineapple, sweet spices; of engaging salty minerality on the palate, but also plenty of polish and spice, long as an ell with verve and yet also character. Great wine!" Vinum

“Saffredi” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
Elisabetta Geppetti's Saffredi is one of Italy's great red wines every year, full of elegance! Dark, polished ruby red colour with purple-violet edges. The explosive aroma of blackcurrants, blackberries, plums, violets and oak spices is accompanied by fascinating spicy, ethereal and wonderfully floral accents with earthy tobacco notes. Dense and velvety on the palate, framed by firm tannins and a juicy freshness that leads the wine full of energy into an endless finish. The flavour profile, which is very typical of Saffredi, is wonderfully balanced, yet multi-layered and very focused with its spiciness. Saffredi 2021 is a genuine and multi-dimensional beauty that should mature for a few more years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Complex, elegant bouquet with fine concentration and precisely contoured fruit body, a basket of blue berries and ripe red cherries, plus a floral backdrop, violets, Mediterranean herbs and maquis as well as undergrowth. Polished, clear and radiant on the palate, juicy and tightly woven with velvety, super-fine tannins, a radiant and elegant Saffredi." Weinwisser
"Spicy-berry perfume, cassis, lots of dark fruit flavours, also nuances of black pepper; the attack is compact, the tannins fine-grained, carried by a soft acidity, finishes long and multi-faceted. Also very successful in this vintage." Vinum
"Dark ruby red core with purple nuances. Blackcurrant and mulberry on the nose, on damp earth, dark chocolate and alabaster. Dense on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, precise fear, comes in many layers, powerful, but with great finesse and incredibly long." Falstaff
"The Fattoria le Pupille 2021 Saffredi offers a seamless integration of dark fruit flavours that segue directly into spice, Tuscan cigar and earthy orris root. This vintage is compact and firm, especially in terms of mouthfeel, and there are graceful floral tones to close." Wine Advocate
"This pure, intense red wine displays aromas and flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, blueberries and violets, underlined by graphite and wild herbs. Very tightly wound, even racy, with invigorating acidity and refined tannins, this noble red wine leans more towards the elegant side, with great harmony and length." Wine Spectator
"Fascinating aromas of sandalwood, lavender, sage and blackcurrant. Mint and spearmint. Pencil shavings. Also light coffee bean. Medium to full body with ultra-fine tannins. Lasts for minutes. Already so approachable now, but it will age beautifully. Best after 2026 and beyond." James Suckling
"The symbolic wine of the house, the first to put the winery and the region "on the map". Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, nose of small black fruits, notes of laurel, mint and Mediterranean herbs, taut and dense drink, with salty tannins, closes with a fruity and oily return." “Tinata” Toscana IGT 2018
Black cherry red with a violet rim. On the nose, notes of spices such as ginger, cinnamon, dried coriander and vanilla bean, rounded off with fruit aromas of pomegranate, cherry and floral nuances such as geranium, lavender and rose. Fresh rose sugar and graphite on the palate; plus raspberry, cherry, fresh plum and cranberries. Long in the finish with a fine cassis note. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful, sparkling ruby violet. Opens with cool spicy notes, some geranium leaf, plus fresh plums. On the palate clear and present fruit, grippy tannin coated by beautiful melting, in the finish full of blackberry and spicy undergrowth." Falstaff
"This wine is, frankly, delicious. The fruit has a brilliant, violet-scented, dark ripeness, but it is infused with a ruby glow. Blueberries and raspberries. Lavender and pepper. The tannins are so fine it feels like they were applied with a sable hair brush, yet they are not delicate - they engrave the fruit with purpose and precision. Delicious freshness in the mouth. Incredibly fragrant on the finish. This wine really floats." Jancis Robinson
"Aromas of cherries and flowers with some orange peel. Also graphite, slate and white pepper. Medium bodied with firm and silky tannins laced with bright acidity. Bright and lively." James Suckling
"The 2018 Tinata is super-expressive right out of the gate. Soaring aromatics meld into a core of dark red/blue fruit, with hints of tobacco, dried herbs, licorice and spice that develop later. A wine of understated depth, the Tinata is impressive in this tasting." Vinous

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2019
Here comes the third vintage of Stefano Frascolla's heart project from the Alta Maremma. Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, aged (on the skins) for half a year in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Radiant ruby red. On the nose, a seductive mix of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a subtle liquorice note. A fabulous acid structure and fine-grained tannins guide the precisely composed wine into a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Great! SUPERIORE.DE
"Shiny ruby-violet with a little light rim. Opens with fine spicy notes, pepper and ivy, then some cherry, blood orange. On the palate lots of grippy, hearty tannin, dark berries, some tobacco, a little brittle on the final." Falstaff
"The green-tobacco and pepper character is very intense with blackberry and black-cherry undertones. Full-bodied and layered with soft tannins that are creamy and very pretty. A full yet soft-textured palate. Succulent and delicious." James Suckling
"A pure expression of Syrah that spends six months in amphorae, the Tua Rita 2019 Keir Rosso is a gregarious and super fun wine that is a joy to drink and a great conversation starter thanks to the crafty approach used in its winemaking. Long skin maceration times give the wine extra intensity. The tightly pored surface of the clay amphorae (that are fired in kilns at very hot temperatures and long durations) means that the wine gets less oxygen during winemaking. This contributes to its delicate and elegant flavors and ultimately to the promising longevity of this vintage. Keir is not as full-bodied as other Tuscan Syrahs, but the wine shows terrific purity and focus instead. The bouquet offers punchy black fruit, plum, tea leaf and savory tobacco." Wine Advocate
"2019 is for Stefano Frascolla an exceptional vintage - one of the best vintages of the last two decades. Bright magenta in colour with an exuberant nose of vivid sweet blackcurrant, cream and spice, this has youthful raspberry, white pepper and flint flavours mixed with concentrated yet vibrant fruit. Impossible to resist, with a lovely weightless texture and harmony, it dances seamlessly across the palate and disappears with incredible lightness but lingering flavours. Syrah meets Burgundy!" Very successful." Vinum
"This is a little more subtle than past bottlings and shows freshness and brightness with some crushed stones, dried apples, lemon blossoms and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied with fresh, tangy undertones of sliced pears and honey. Crisp finish. Some stones and just a hint of phenolics at the end. Complex. Best yet?" James Suckling

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2022
Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, aged (on the skins) for six months in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Brilliant ruby red colour. On the nose, a seductive blend of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a fine liquorice note. Cherry again on the palate, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acidity structure and fine-grained tannins guide this precisely composed wine to a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Magnificent! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, powerful ruby colour with a violet rim. Smells of wild strawberries and candy floss, some blackberry, followed by spicy notes of rosemary and thyme. Plump and juicy fruit on the palate, very precise and clear, thrilling on the finish with very well-placed tannins and firm pressure." Falstaff
"A juicy and chocolatey red with cloves, black pepper and hints of terra cotta. It’s medium-bodied with round and crunchy fruit and a light hazelnut and clove finish. Just a hint of bitter chocolate." James Suckling

“Tinata” Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
Black cherry red with a violet rim. On the nose, notes of spices such as ginger, cinnamon, dried coriander and vanilla bean, rounded off with fruit aromas of pomegranate, cherry and floral nuances such as geranium, lavender and rose. Fresh rose sugar and graphite on the palate; plus raspberry, cherry, fresh plum and cranberries. Long in the finish with a fine cassis note. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense ruby violet. Opens with fine spicy notes, of ivy and sandalwood, crisp sour cherry, some white pepper. On the palate polished and round, shows very well placed tannin, many layers, entwined with fine melting, fun!" Falstaff
"A blend of Syrah and Grenache, the Monteverro 2019 Tinata shows wonderful richness and concentration with a full range of spicy and opulent dark fruit aromas. This is a terrific organic wine that can be appreciated most of all thanks to its expertly applied Italian face to these high-performing Rhône varieties. There is a lot of promise in these grapes, especially along this sun-drenched stretch of coastal Tuscany. Tinata is creamy rich and opulent with sweet dark fruit, spice and baking chocolate." Wine Advocate
"Lots of dried-meat, pink-peppercorn, ink and smoky character. Medium-to full-bodied with firm, layered tannins that are intense. Lead-pencil and crushed-stone undertones. Give this three or four years to soften." James Suckling

“Tinata” Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Black cherry red with a violet rim. On the nose, notes of spices such as ginger, cinnamon, dried coriander and vanilla pod, rounded off with fruit flavours of pomegranate, cherry and floral nuances such as geranium, lavender and rose. Fresh rose sugar and graphite on the palate, with raspberry, cherry, fresh plum and cranberry flavours. Long finish with a fine cassis note. SUPERIORE.DE
"A blend of Syrah and Grenache that is unusual for Italy: the attack with a spicy fruit and herb nose; dense texture with well-integrated tannins, the acidity accentuated, finishes smoothly on berry confit, the wood discreetly noticeable." Vinum
"Extremely perfumed and floral with potpourri, roses and violets to the dark fruit. Medium-bodied with polished and refined tannins. Crushed stone. This will be beautiful on release in 2023, but will age nicely, too." James Suckling
"The 2020 vintage was hotter than 2019, and the tannins are quite firm and noticeably present - deep ruby colour with purple hues. Dark cassis and violet notes build with the intensity of those powerful, robust, and muscular tannins. Balanced by good natural acidity and a lifted finish scented with spicy, herbaceous notes and dusty minerals with white pepper nuances. The Tinata is a unique blend for this region of Tuscany and is typically 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache each year." Decanter

“SUISASSI” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2013 (BIO)
Syrah Suisassi is rich and expressive. The bouquet convinces with aromas of sage, rosemary, wild flowers, liquorice, violets and plums. On the palate very full and round with memories of berries, chocolate and nuts. Elegant and intellectual. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, dark ruby-violet, impenetrable. Opened in the nose with notes of elderberries, very clear, much juicy and precisely worked out fruit. Vibrating on the palate, with spices and dark fruit, juicy, with fine-meshed tannins, a wide arch, very long aftertaste, high elegance." Falstaff
"The 2013 Syrah Suisassi is faithful to the grape and shows abundant notes of blackberry, cured meat, exotic spice and grilled herb. Luca D’Attoma has been experimenting with increased stem inclusion. In the 2012 vintage, 30% of the mass saw stem inclusion, but that figure rises to 100% with the 2016 vintage. This Syrah is an extremely well integrated and smoothly textured. The oak still needs time to integrate, but past tasting experiences with Suisassi give excellent promise for its age-worthiness. Luca believes stem inclusion provokes a slightly reduced effect when the wine is young. For this reason, you should wait before popping the cork. The 2013 vintage in particular boasts an all-Rhône approach." Wine Advocate
"This is setting a new benchmark for syrah with so much intensity yet it remains refined and velvety textured. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a long and flavorful finish. So much licorice, smoked meat and spice. Light berry. Green apple skin. What a wine." James Suckling
"Duemani's 2013 Syrah Suisassi is impressive. The inclusion of a third of whole clusters adds considerable aromatic lift and nuance to the dark fruit flavors. Lavender, mint, sage, licorice and plum are all pushed forward. Beams of underlying acidity shape the expressive, saline finish." Antonio Galloni

“Gabbro” Rosso Costa Toscana IGT 2021
Gabbro in a small edition of just 2,500 bottles each year is the essence of Montepeloso's noblest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, the vines are over 40 years old. Impressively complex bouquet of dark fruits, smoke and grilled vegetables. Reveals its pedigree and great class on the palate, powerful and muscular. Exquisite, complex, nuanced, persistent, long ... Gabbro truly offers everything that belongs to an unforgettable wine experience at world-class Cabernet level. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, deep ruby red. Great, expressive nose of cassis, mint, elderberries, in addition fine noble wood and stony hints, ripe red pepper in the aftertaste, noble spice. On the palate full-bodied, with radiant fruit, embedded in still young wood tannin, shows itself closely interwoven, in addition much juiciness, elegant drinking flow, still a child, still needs rest." Falstaff
"Gorgeous aromas of currants, flowers, bark and pine needles. Crushed stone. Full-bodied with crunchy and chewy tannins as well as fresh mushroom and spices. Dark fruits with graphite. Lead pencil. Fresh tannins that are vertical. Drink after 2027 but already so enticing to taste." James Suckling
"The 2021 Gabbro is another hugely promising 2021 from Fabio Chiarelotto. Deep, sensual and layered, the 2021 offers up a heady mix of dark fruit intermingled with scents of tobacco, scorched earth, leather, incense and menthol. Potent and yet quite elegant, the 2021 has a ton going on. It's another super-elegant wine from Montepeloso. Superb." Vinous

Syrah Toscana IGT 2016
A long-cherished vision of Elisabetta and her daughter Clara finds its completion in this crescent. This 100% Syrah builds on all that the winery has achieved in recent years and for which it has gained world renown. The best grapes, careful selection and a sensitive, clever and innovative vinification combined with a clearly recognisable signature and the already proverbial quality fanaticism.
The grapes come from the two estate-owned vineyards Pian di Fiora and La Vigna del Palo. Pian di Fiora is the cooler site with just 5 ha, the grapes are destemmed by hand and then fermented in 500l clay amphorae. The grapes from the east-facing vineyard La Vigna del Palo are fermented in open 500l barrels. The wines are then blended and matured in 300l barriques for a further 10 months before facing a further 22 months of bottle ageing.
Intense, deep red with dark ruby reflections. On the nose, fresh notes of red berry fruits and spices, hints of black pepper. The palate is complex, with gripping tannins, a fine acid wire and a wonderfully balanced body. It has great ageing potential and is for us the classic meditation wine in impression and expression. SUPERIORE.DE
"The second vintage of this single-varietal Syrah from the coast, a selection of grapes from two vineyards: still somewhat restrained nose with notes of plums, dark berries and spices; complex texture with accentuated acidity and fine-meshed tannin, the final elegant and long. Wonderfully built wine with ageing potential." Vinum
"The grapes come from the cooler, east-facing vineyard "La Vigna del Palo". They are fermented in different clay amphorae and then matured in 300-litre barriques for a further 10 months, followed by a further 22 months in bottle. The bouquet is expansively spicy, expressive, with red and a touch of green pepper, red pepper, plus tobacco, liquorice and ripe blackberries. Has become much more precise and a bit "calmer" compared to the online tasting in January, because quite young it presented itself with wild, iodine notes. It is much finer now. What has remained is the wonderful spiciness with the salty-mineral notes." Weinwisser
"The Fattoria le Pupille 2016 Le Pupille is an ambitious expression of amphorae-fermented Syrah. It presents cherry and dark plum, with earthy tones followed by tarry spice and campfire smoke. The meaty intensity normally associated with the Syrah grape is replaced here by plump and rich dark fruit. Give the wine a little extra time in your cellar to evolve and unwind." Wine Advocate
"The 2016 Syrah is a dense, potent wine. Wild cherry, game, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and coffee are front and center. This is an especially rich style. Then, again we are in Maremma. The 2016 is a bit wild, but in the best sense of the term. It will offer its finest drinking alongside similarly hearty cuisine. It was fermented in a mix of terracotta and cocciopesto, then moved into oak for 2-3 months before going into bottle, where it spent more than two years before being released." Vinous
"Fabulous complexity on the nose with crushed blackberries, chocolate, walnuts and tar. Lots of dried flowers. Full body. Layered and creamy with superb tannin texture and length. Hints of stone. Half made in amphora and half in casks. Aged one year in old casks." James Suckling

Deep dark cherry red with a violet glow on the rim. Aromas of spices such as rosemary and thyme on the nose, with fruity notes of blackcurrant and cherry. Blackberry, cherry, fresh plum and cranberry on the palate, wonderful cassis notes and dark chocolate on the long final. Modern Tuscan, stylistically rigorous in the French style. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby with dark, aubergine-coloured nuances. Juicy black cherry, dark chocolate and cedar on the nose, with a hint of forest floor behind it. On the palate with a dense and velvety texture, concentrated fruit and firm tannins." Falstaff
"This shows notes of blackcurrants and blackberries with dark chocolate, clove and cardamom undertones. Medium- to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a compact structure. Vivid and dark-fruited with a crunchy finish." James Suckling

“SUISASSI” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2015 (BIO)
Syrah Suisassi is rich and expressive. The bouquet convinces with aromas of sage, rosemary, wild flowers, liquorice, violets and plums. On the palate very full and round with memories of berries, chocolate and nuts. Elegant and intellectual. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich and explosive in the glass, the 2015 Suisassi has a lot to offer. A blast of heady blueberry jam, crème de cassis, leather and pepper notes emerges as this big, tannic wine gradually starts to open up. The 30% stems add quite a bit of savoriness without dominating the wine's balance. This is very nicely done, especially within the context of the year." Antonio Galloni
"The blackberries and cloves are intense on the nose with licorice and hints of eucalyptus, too. Full body, extremely fine tannins and citrus rind undertones. Tight and composed. I love the length." James Suckling

"Multifaceted nose, raspberry-scented with balsamic nuances; linear on the palate, perfectly integrated compact tannins, the acidity lively, then again a beautiful persistent fruit." Vinum
"Notes of tomato leaf, eucalyptus and laurel mingle with flavours of plum, blackberry and iron in this dense, powerful red wine. A beam of acidity drives the savoury finish, with a firm grip of tannins." Wine Spectator

Keir Ansonica is the white answer to Keir Syrah, which is also aged in amphorae. A wine produced in small quantities of 2,000 bottles, which is neither clarified nor filtered and is an expression of both innovation and tradition.
Light golden yellow in colour. Fine, reductive bouquet of lemon peel, tropical fruit and yellow apple with a hint of smoke, honey, spices, herbs and broom. Dry on the palate, with a medium body and beautiful acidity, freshness and complexity. The flavours reflect the bouquet beautifully and lead into a medium-long finish. An excellent white wine, especially with Asian cuisine. SUPERIORE.DE
