"This wine rises from the glass with heady scents of violets, roses and lilacs, which are eventually joined by dabs of pepper, floral earth and roasted chestnuts, but the palate is almost stubbornly closed, while the tannins cling insistently to a brooding core of dark cherry. The acidity is just as concentrated as the fruit, and compared to the estate's classic Brunello, the bottling from the single vineyard Madonna delle Grazie shows more density and volume, and it will have to stay in the cellar even longer." The wine is exceptionally elegant and graceful, caressing the palate with its silky feel and ripe red and blue fruits. A hint of sour citrus provides contrast, a blend of ferrous minerals and fine tannins that build towards the finish. A saturation of primary concentration remains, balanced by residual acidity, while it finishes structured and incredibly long, leaving a hint of sour cherry and masses of violet pastilles. "The Il Marroneto 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is another classic expression of Sangiovese from winemaker Alessandro Mori and his son Iacopo. This vintage is best described as charming. It is a very pretty wine, elegant and refined, with pretty floral accents of rose and violet leaning towards a subtle menthol note. There is caramelised sugar and candied orange. This vintage is a little closed or tight in mouthfeel, suggesting it needs more time in the bottle to spread its wings." Wine Advocate
