"The 2021 expresses the conditions of the vintage with an overall density, but remains balanced and agile. In-house Oenologist Giuseppe Rigoli explains that a small portion of the grapes were harvested very early to preserve freshness and the rest were brought in by the end of September. He also carried out a slightly shorter maceration of 15 days (compared to 20 days in 2020). The wine opens with a hint of vanilla and then moves into mint and violets. The sandy tannins envelop the concentrated red berries and grip powerfully on the finish. The original quality of the fruit shines through and the savoury nuances remain." Decanter

After organic certification was granted for the 2021 vintage, the next generation of Carlettis, namely Maria Stella and Francesco, began working on a new wine. It was to be a Rosso made from 100% Prugnolo Gentile, the local variety of Sangiovese. The vines for the single vineyard at high altitude were selected from ancient clones that had already given Montepulciano wines supra-regional importance in the Middle Ages.

Fiori Rosso, the winery's new "Super Rosso", surprises with its enormous fragrance, reminiscent of blood orange, dark cherries and mulberries, violets and violet flowers. Modern, velvety and accessible on the palate, yet sophisticated - an incredibly hedonistic wine whose label is a promise of the wine's fragrance and an allusion to the fields of flowers between the organic rows of vines. The name Da-Di is derived from the Chinese and means earth/soil. It not only emphasises the organic cultivation of the vines, but also the subsequent ageing in 13 Tuscan terracotta amphorae. The result is a fascinatingly fresh wine that is a joy to drink from the very first sip.

Intense bouquet of cinnamon and star anise, accompanied by small red fruits such as raspberry and redcurrant. Complex, lively, almost explosive on the palate with beautifully pronounced primary flavours such as sour cherry and black cherry, accompanied by floral accents. The name Da-Di is derived from the Chinese and means earth/soil. DA-DI bianco was born from the intuition of the owner Virginie Saverys to rediscover the vocation of the Cortona area for the production of great white wines from indigenous grapes, and summarises all of Avignonesi's love of experimentation.

It opens intensely in the glass with floral notes of wisteria and lime, white peach and gooseberry. On the palate, the attack is precise and straightforward. Lemon peel, mint and the complexity of wildflower honey come to the fore. The pronounced acidity makes it long and elegant. Hints of flint bring back mineral notes in the aftertaste.
