“Prugnolo” Rosso di Montepulciano DOC 2022
Boscarelli's Prugnolo opens the bouquet with velvety and cherry aromas, then becomes full-bodied and powerful. Outstanding fruit on the palate, pleasantly fresh acidity, present tannins, structured and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with violet reflections. Lots of cherries on the nose, followed by green pepper and vanilla. Fruity on the palate, straightforward, refreshing acidity, medium-long, slightly salty finish." Falstaff
"The 2022 Rosso di Montepulciano Prugnolo is vibrant and fresh, with a burst of wild strawberries, lavender and violets. This is juicy and fruit-focused, with masses of tart raspberry and sweet herbs energized by zesty acidity. It leaves the palate coated in primary concentration and spices while ending gently tannic and refined. This is a fantastic effort and a great introduction to the Boscarelli house style." Vinous
"Pure, fragrant and transparent with lots of raspberries, strawberries, red cherries, herbs and potpourri. This wine is really fresh and tangy, with fine, linear tannins that carry the juicy, nimble red fruit to a fresh, buoyant finish. Really drinkable, fresh and expressive." James Suckling

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2021
Brilliant ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Impressive aroma of red berries, smoke, roasted almonds and dark spices. Taut, straightforward, expressive and beautifully long on the palate. With its classic understatement, Boscarelli's Nobile di Montepulciano is a wonderfully precise example of its growing region every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Smells of small stone fruit, tobacco and blossoms; fresh attack, vivid acidity, compact structure with melting, juice and length. Convinces with its fresh and elegant style." Vinum
"Bright, sparkling ruby red with a brightening rim. Fine spice and cherry on the nose, with a woody aftertaste. Beautiful juiciness and clear, fresh fruit on the palate, compact, noble, classic in the best sense of the word, with a fine salty finish." Falstaff
"The aromas are shy and discreet, taking their time to reveal beautiful scents of cherry blossom and plum. This medium-bodied candidate offers plenty of freshness, its bright acidity and elegant sandy tannins supporting a core of ripe red cherries and blood oranges. Gracefully composed, it shows lovely balance and is one of the more immediately approachable offerings of the vintage." Decanter
"This red wine offers purity with aromas and flavours of cherry, pomegranate, earth and iron while remaining lively, supported by a dense tannic matrix. Balanced, with a finish of bitter almond, it needs a few years to integrate." Wine Spectator
"This wine has depth and seriousness with cedar, sandalwood, lavender, cherries and citrus. Medium body with fine tannins that pull on the finish. Racy and polished. Give this wine two or three years to develop." James Suckling

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2020
The De Ferrari brothers select their Riserva from the oldest vines on the estate's best plots. Ruby red in colour with a garnet hue. The wine opens discreetly with subtle but captivating hints of sage, leather and allspice. On the palate, it is supple and agile and feels confidently extracted, with firm, straightforward tannins, but not overdone. The wood supports rather than imposes on the wine, and the vibrant acidity of the vintage comes through nicely. Long, seductive and delicately spicy on the final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense, sparkling ruby red colour. Hints of leather and ripe fruit on the nose, followed by notes of wood and marzipan. Elegant tannins on the palate with a slightly ethereal finish." Falstaff
"Charismatic aromas of red berries, tobacco and leather; elegant, balanced, the tannins perfectly integrated and supported by a lively acidity, convincing with its classic style." Vinum
"A slightly viscous Vino Nobile with the character of berries, bark and dried mushrooms. Full-bodied with some fresh acidity under the tannin backbone." James Suckling
"Mint and eucalyptus shade the cherry and strawberry fruit in this lean but solid red wine, which has an underlying minerality. Balanced, this wine needs time to fully integrate all the elements, but there is still a very positive energy that drives the long finish." Wine Spectator

“Costa Grande” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2018
A little bit of everything, but never too much of a good thing. One of the most complex Nobiles we have ever tasted. Delicate red fruit with a pinch of sweetness and a floral aroma, underpinned by some tobacco and raspberry. Clear cherry flavour on the palate, plus a wonderful spiciness with that subtle sweetness in the background again. A finesse-rich and harmonious final whets the appetite for the next glass. Very successful and full of precision! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a delicately brightening rim. Fine leather aroma on the nose, delicate roasted malt flavour, fine strawberries on the finish. Very radiant on the palate, juicy, with clear red berry fruit and a powerful final with elegant spicy notes." Falstaff
"Subtle yet complex bouquet with good depth coming from red fruits and spicy flavours. A certain stony minerality adds a touch of austerity to the plums and cherries. Medium to full body with chalky tannins. Transparent and delicious." James Suckling
"The Boscarelli 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Costa Grande is amply rich and fleshed out with dark fruit, tarry smoke and toasted spice. This is a savory wine with a heavy center of gravity that would work next to braised meats or roasts. The wine remains mid-weight in stye, but the texture is velvety and rich." Vinous
"This soft red wine, made exclusively from Sangiovese, opens with aromas of ripe wild berries, undergrowth, violets and dark spices. On the polished palate, refined tannins accompany baked plums, liquorice and a hint of espresso." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Costa Grande is incredibly pretty, as crushed stone gives way to bright cherries, dusty violets, mint and a hint of animal musk. The wine feels round and supple, but gains traction from mineralised red fruits. The finish is lightly structured yet lively. Although the 2018 has only just been bottled, it shows wonderfully and is full of potential. I love it." Vinous
"This ripe and almost opulent red wine shows flavours of black cherries, blackberries, violets, iron and spices. There is a hint of wild herbs that intertwine on the long, dense finish. A tantalising expression of fruit supported by a solid structure." Wine Spectator

“Il Nocio dei Boscarelli” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2019
Il Nocio, a Nobile di Montepulciano from a single vineyard, impressively demonstrates the true essence of the Sangiovese grape and has also been one of the region's quality leaders for years. Deep red, intense aromas of sour cherry, redcurrant, rose petals, violets and sweet spices. Dense, juicy and elegant on the palate, with fresh, pure fruit and smoothly polished tannins. Lively mineral and floral nuances in the very long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, baroque ruby red colour. Radiant nose of ripe forest fruit, cranberries, cherries, with some leather in the aftertaste and light spice. Opens up on the palate with elegant use of wood and polished red cranberry fruit, with beautiful juiciness, firm pressure on the finish, minimally broad on the finish, already accessible." Falstaff
"Packs ample flesh, wrapped around flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, cedar, earth and tobacco. Features flashes of juniper and wild rosemary that dapple its impressive length, while dusty tannins prevail on the lengthy finish." Wine Spectator
"Dark and earthy in the glass, the 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Il Nocio smolders up with a blend of crushed ashen stones and savory herbs, underbrush and camphor. This is a round effort, with a mineral tinge up front and depths of red and black fruits that slowly saturate the palate toward the close. A balsamic twang punctuates the finish, combined with a web of fine-grained tannins as the 2019 tapers off long and structured, simply begging for the cellar. This is a classic in the making." Vinous
"Tarry berries, black mineral, dried orange rind and mussels on the nose. I like the chalky tannin structure and the pithiness here that makes you think of the build of a fine Serralunga d'Alba Barolo. Tight, bold and very austere, for sure, but so attractive and gastronomic at the same time. The tannins make you feel hungry. Give it time to unwind." James Suckling
"Three hectares just over 45 years old, flagship wine for Nobile di Montepulciano in the world. Nose of marasca cherries under spirits, mulberry, great balsamic cue and hints of undergrowth. The sip is vigorous, iodine-rich, juicy and at the same time complex, crisp, with great persistence." Luca Gardini

The Genoese Egidio Corradi had the idea at the beginning of the 1960s to revive the Vino Nobile and to produce a wine worthy of the great name. While Poderi Boscarelli's first own wine production in 1967 consisted of just 2,000 bottles, today the Nobile alone accounts for around half of the total output of around 100,000 bottles. With the same enthusiasm for viticulture and an equally great love for Tuscany as the founder of the estate, Paola de Ferrari Corradi, Egidio's daughter, and her two sons Nicolò and Luca continue the work in the family business today. While Nicolò, who originally wanted to become an architect, primarily takes care of the vineyards and the cellar, Luca is mainly responsible for the operative business and the interaction. The small estate is located in Cervognano, picturesquely between Montepulciano and Valdichiana, on a hill about 300 meters high and is probably the best address for Sangiovese wines in the entire Montepulciano area.
In the vineyards cultivated uncompromisingly by the winegrowing family, the slopes planted with vines face southeast towards Valdichiana. On permeable alluvial soils, consisting of sand, gravel and sea sediments as well as a little clay, four other autochthonous grape varieties thrive in addition to the outstanding Tuscan parade variety (80 percent share) with Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera and Mammolo. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah round off the red wine portfolio as international varieties. After the replanting of the vineyards was completed at the end of the 1980s, the average density in the vineyards was between 6,000 and 7,000 vines per hectare. The yield per vine is deliberately kept low at 1.5 kilograms of grapes.
Wild yeasts from our own vineyards are used for vinification. The ageing of the wines takes place temperature-controlled mostly in small oak barrels. The Vino Nobile from Poderi Boscarelli convince with a very high stylistic consistency. They are elegant and distinguished by finesse. The landowners have a poetic formula ready for their most important plants: the Nobile speaks, the Riserva calls, the Nocio whispers. The quality of the other wines from the company advised by oenologist Maurizio Castelli is also convincing. The following applies to all wines: in their youth often bulky and closed, they elude the fashion dictate of fast enjoyment. In addition to the wines, the estate also distills a grappa made from Vino Nobile pomace and produces extra virgin olive oil. SUPERIORE.DE
"A cellar in which we constantly invest in improvements, local grapes and yeasts, wisdom and passion, these are the characteristics of the house, which can count on a large following among the friends of Tuscan wines." GAMBERO ROSSO
