“Lodano” Bianco Toscana IGT 2023
A true champion is the Lodano, an unusual cuvée of Chardonnay with Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Powerful, dense and soft with flavours of stone fruit, apricot, honey and candied orange peel. Then it moves on to delicate mineral nuances with crushed granite and shells. Excellent length, depth and floral freshness. The cleansing acidity comes through at the end with attractive brightness. This exceptional and sophisticated white perfectly embodies Stefano Frascolla's excellent signature. SUPERIORE.DE
"This is always an interesting white blend of co-fermented riesling, gewurztraminer and chardonnay. So much blossom honey, stone and flint on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with lots of bitter lemon and lemon blossom character. Flinty at the end. Electric." James Suckling

“Ginestreto” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022
Light ruby colour. Rich bouquet of red cherry, strawberry, chocolate and violet. Generous and lively on the palate of rhubarb, strawberry cake and sour cherry, the fruit is beautifully concentrated and full. The nobly knitted tannin structure leads this multi-layered and very serious Sangiovese into a charming, mineral finish. Every year, Fuligni produces a wine that is outstanding for the appellation and, in terms of style, is an ingenious crossover between tradition and modernity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, sparkling ruby red colour. Very open-hearted nose, juicy cherry fruit, geranium, light spice, some watermelon on the finish. Elegant on the palate with polished tannins, savoury, surprising freshness and juiciness, drinks very well." Falstaff
"Light bricky red. Sweet fruit and sweet oak but also fragrant with wild blossom and a hint of mocha. Complex aroma. Deep, chewy, firmly grained tannins. Masses of integrity and depth of flavour. Bottled a few months ago and still needs more bottle age but has great potential." Jancis Robinson
"Unlike many more powerful, impactful wines in Montalcino, Fuligni’s unfurl with discretion and patience. This is a wonderful entry into the thoroughbred house style. Smooth, suave black cherry and strawberry fruit is framed by freshness and soft but structuring tannins. Ample and ripe, but still with a real sense of poise. The vineyard is named after the ginestra (broom) that grows on this single hectare of 10- to 15-year-old vines." Decanter
"The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto is gorgeous and classic to the house style, with a cascade of dried black cherries, rose petals, cloves and spice, all complicated by hints of flowery undergrowth. It's silken and serene with ripe wild berry fruits and juicy acidity balanced by tactile mineral tones throughout. This finishes staining, long and spicy, yet leaves the mouth watering for more as traces of licorice and clove taper off. Wow." Vinous

“Keir” Ansonica Toscana IGT 2019
Keir Ansonica is the white answer to Keir Syrah, which is also aged in amphorae. A wine produced in a small edition of 2,000 bottles, neither clarified nor filtered, it is an expression of innovation and tradition at the same time.
Light golden yellow. Fine, reductive bouquet of lemon peel, tropical fruits and yellow apple with hints of smoke, honey, spices, herbs and broom. Dry, medium-bodied palate with nice acidity, freshness and complexity. The flavours reflect the bouquet beautifully and lead into a medium length finish. Very nice first vintage of this truly special white wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"This is the first vintage of a Keir white wine, made from Ansonica macerated on the skins in amphorae for two months. Unclarified and unfiltered, it has a deep, golden, Sauternes-like colour, with waxy orange peel aromas and just a hint of mineral and irony. Salty, savoury flavours on the palate are accompanied by a noticeable tannic edge. A twist of orange peel make this a characterful wine, perfect for drinking with spicy Szechuan-style dishes." “Amor Costante” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019
Deep ruby colour, lush notes of cherries, strawberries and sweet oak spice, vanilla and black pepper. The Sangiovese gives great freshness to the blend and is in perfect balance with the silky and soft tannins of the Merlot. Rich overall, yet always elegant and with great persistence. A complex, superbly structured red of absolute supertuscan quality. SUPERIORE.DE
"A juicy and creamy red with aromas and flavors of redcurrants and crushed stones. Medium-bodied, tight palate and a fresh and vivid finish. Some aniseed and sage. Crunchy finish to it." James Suckling
"Here's a new and frankly delightful discovery from Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto. The 2019 Amor Costante is pleasure to drink, with one glass of wine inviting the next pour. This blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Sangiovese manages an almost full-bodied approach while maintaining terrific balance and elegance. It offers a long list of black and purple fruit aromas with blackberry and plum, plus the additional textural fiber you would expect of those flavors, along with soft spice and smoke. The finish is stitched together by tart fruit flavors and firm tannins. This is a 2,252-bottle release." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Beautiful and very well-balanced red wine from the three main historical areas of Montalcino, which have different geoclimatic characteristics due to their different slopes and altitudes, thus ensuring a unique balance between freshness and structure, body and elegance. Ruby red in colour with garnet hues, it opens immediately with a rich, complex nose. Initially dark cherry, chinotto orange and violet. It then opens up to broader, more complex notes of blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon and chocolate with a subtle menthol finish. The primary fruit is surrounded by spice, grilled herbs and floral earth; nice length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Cherry and tomato leaf on the nose, then a fine leather flavour. Good freshness and juicy fruit on the palate, shows firm body and pressure, accessible, delicately bitter on the final." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red colour. Compact and dense on the nose with notes of sweet raspberries and fresh mint. Lots of sweet raspberry fruit on the palate with a tangy acid nerve that runs through the fullness of the fruit. Firm but ripe and fine-grained tannins. A fairly rich wine, but one that will probably age well." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino exudes hints of wild berries, violet pastille and sweet smoke. This is a seductive effort with juicy acidity and vibrant red and blue fruits swirling throughout. Autumnal spices and dark chocolate slowly saturate towards the finish. The 2019 finishes long yet remarkably fresh with a hint of liquorice and slightly grippy tannins. The 2019 aims to please and will provide early satisfaction after a short stay in the cellar while the single-vineyard wines slowly mature." Vinous
"The Brunello from the Val di Suga vineyard is made up of equal parts from the Vigna del Lago vineyard in the north-east, Poggio al Granchio in the south-east and Vigna Spuntali in the south-west of Montalcino. The bright ruby red colour and youthful freshness are well preserved. Concentrated aromas of red cherry with a hint of pepper fade into deep violet and sweet earth. The medium-bodied palate is appealing and pure, offering layers of lush red berry and plump persimmon flavours underscored by juicy acidity. The sandy textured tannins are supple and yielding. Hard to resist." Decanter
"This lively red wine is smooth and harmonious, with strawberry, cherry and blackcurrant fruit flavours underpinned by mineral and wild herbal notes. Dusty tannins give it grip and texture on the finish. Excellent length." Wine Spectator
"A blend of three vineyards belonging to three different sides of the appellation. Durone di Vignola on the nose, a hint of lemon thyme and clementine peel. Juicy on the palate, with a hint of savoury and balsamic notes. Persistent." Luca Gardini

“Turpino” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
The elegant blend of Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot surprises with its aroma full of purity and intensely aromatic fruit flavour. Elegance and finesse trump muscle in Turpino, a wine that is always light on its feet. Fermentation in wooden barrels and ageing in barriques lend the spicy, balsamic notes of the grape blend a softness, a fine frame and a beguilingly long finish on the palate. With its tangy acidity balancing the ripe fruit, Turpino manages to be generous and restrained at the same time, making it a great accompaniment to Mediterranean meat dishes. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, dark ruby red colour. Captivating nose with aromas of black cherry, tobacco and ebony, also some iodine. On the palate, with a good length, young but fine tannins, lots of chocolate, still needs time, lots of potential." Falstaff
"Infused with plum, cherry and blackberry fruit, this well-balanced red wine is soft in texture. Hints of Mediterranean scrub, iron, earth and tobacco complete the flavour profile. The finish is fresh and long." Wine Spectator
"Lots of black liquorice and aniseed with blackberries and blueberries. Medium-bodied with very refined and polished tannins that run the length of the wine. Crisp, firm and juicy. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot. Needs time to mellow, but is very nice." James Suckling
"The Turpino 2020, which I tasted from the barrel last year, has developed wonderfully. The 2020 is rich, multi-layered and expansive and captivates from the very first sip. The blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot is very well done. The Syrah contains some whole bunches (50%), another good choice that works very well. All the elements are very harmonious. This is another fabulous wine from Querciabella." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Camigliano's Brunello di Montalcino 2019 shows impressive balance and integrity. It contrasts the delicate sweetness of the fruit beautifully with the ethereal and liquorice-like aromas that simply come automatically to Sangiovese when it is grown on the south side of the spectacular Montalcino appellation. Blood orange, redcurrant and wild blueberry on the nose, with a hint of salt and herbaceous notes in the background. On the palate, it impresses with its balanced intensity and lively tannins. The harmonious, very juicy finish surprises with playful notes of warm cherry sweetness, the footprint of Camigliano's wine identity, complemented by a fine mineral vein. This is a highly respectable Camigliano wine from a wonderful vintage, in which the winery is able to fully capitalise on the perfect climate of the vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino exudes a pretty bouquet of dried roses and strawberries accompanied by Tuscan dust. It is silky-smooth and polished, with ripe red berries flowing over a stream of vibrant acidity. Orange and cedar notes linger as the 2019 finishes with soft tannins and a pleasantly bitter note." Vinous
"Layers of juicy red cherries, spice and woody aromas, filled with dark red fruits and firm tannin." Decanter
"Lots of dried fruit, such as figs, dried plums and savoury herbs, followed by lingering dried meat notes and sweet and sour undertones. Medium-bodied with polished tannins. A slightly nutty aftertaste." James Suckling
"The Camigliano 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers a combination of dark fruits, ripe blackberries and roasted cardamom or cumin from 24 months of ageing in large oak barrels. This organically grown wine shows a rich concentration and oak-driven intensity that fits into the context of classic Brunello. Ultimately, the wine reflects a warm growing area with a mixture of clay, sand and rocky soils. It offers a light texture on the mid-palate with chalky tannins." Wine Advocate
"The fruit is rather dark for the vintage, reminiscent of black cherry, blackberry and dark plum, while earth and wild herb accents add detail. Tightly woven tannins mingle quickly and leave a compact, powdery sensation on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The beautiful label of a sustainable project, that of the Ghezzi family, which focuses on the manic care of farm labour. Notes of wild strawberries on the nose, a hint of rosehip and ginger, then lemon sage. Iodised, salty tannins on the palate, with floral notes." Luca Gardini

“Nero di Nubi” Pinot Nero Toscana IGT 2015
Nero di Nubi is a brilliant, unspoilt expression of this delicate Burgundy grape variety with great strength and a typical Tuscan attitude. You can taste the warmth and exuberance of the lush 2015 vintage, but this additional richness and strength never exceeds the natural limits set by this variety from the outset. “L’Albereta” Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva DOCG 2021 (BIO)
L'Albereta is Alessio Logi's top wine from the single vineyard of the same name, which is also organically farmed. It owes its unmistakable identity to its rich, full-bodied texture, among other things. Matured for 12 months in oak barrels, it is rich in apricots, honey, cedar wood and roasted almonds. L'Albereta is a ripe and fleshy sun wine with a long, creamy finish flanked by smoke, spices and a delicate hint of cinnamon. It is already pleasant, but will become much richer and more complex over the next five to 12 years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Spicy-fruity bouquet, notes of peach and acacia blossom; the attack is mineral and compact, the acidity well integrated, notes of white pepper and plenty of fruit on the final." Vinum

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Caparzo is one of two estates in Montalcino (the other is Altesino, by the way) owned by the extremely charming Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini.
Caparzo's Brunello di Montalcino is a very classic interpretation that delivers the perfect stuff without any distracting frills. The nose is fruity and warm at the same time: aromas of strawberries, cherries and hibiscus flirt with notes of dark chocolate, orange peel and stones bathing in the sun. On the palate, a wave of cranberry brings an astringency that refreshes a lingering stony note before the chocolate returns on the finish. The firm, imposing tannins creep up slowly, adding depth without weighing the wine down. Great value! SUPERIORE.DE
"Fruity bouquet, dark cherries, but also cassis and blue berries. Behind this, however, very clear notes of cherry, blackberries and marvellous floral hints. Polished and pleasing on the palate, round, with fine, round tannins, sweet berries." Weinwisser
"Ruby red with brightening edges. Intense nose of ripe cherry, some leather and beeswax, reminiscent of blood orange on the final. Clear fruit again on the palate, fine woody spice, with a certain pressure and pithy tannins." Falstaff
"The 2019 captures its overtly fragrant disposition. Fennel, mint and aniseed linger on the palate. Plush and soft texture with a predominant blackcurrant flavour. The fine tannins harmonise with the zesty acidity. An uncomplicated and attractive wine overall." Decanter
"Rich and supple, with aromas and flavours of cherry, blackberry, graphite and tobacco. The dense, dusty tannins are evident in the long, lively finish, in which a slight astringency lingers." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens slowly in the glass, but it's worth the wait as a dusty mix of dried flowers, cedar shavings, wild strawberries and spice unfolds over time. It is silky and enveloping with fresh acidity and pretty wild berries that gain sweetness over the palate. The finish is long and colourful but still lively and tangy, leaving a layer of fine tannins and liquorice notes that resonate under a hint of violet blossom. The 2019 is a beautiful interpretation of the fruit of northern Montalcino." Vinous
"The Caparzo 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers vibrant flavours of cherry-cola, wild berries and dried cranberries, which are very much in evidence on the nose. The wine's dimension and scope are impressive, especially in terms of mouthfeel. What works best in my opinion, however, is the wine's balanced and much-needed freshness. You get a great quality." Wine Advocate
"Quite pure fruit with flavours of black cherries, black berries and light chocolate. The palate is full and focused with very polished tannins and a long, long finish." James Suckling

“Aria di Caiarossa” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Aria di Caiarossa is a blend of Merlot, Syrah, Alicante, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon - in decreasing order. At this young stage, you can taste the purity of the primary flavours with wild cherry and raspberry, underpinned by dark spice and a hint of crushed mineral. These elegant mineral notes can be found throughout the Caiarossa portfolio. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, almost impenetrable ruby red colour with slightly brightening edges. Ripe wild berries and rich plums on the nose, with hints of dark chocolate and wet leather on the finish. Full-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins, juicy and a long-lasting final." Falstaff
"Although fruity, with flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry, this red wine has a certain weight. It finds a nice balance, with an earthy note and a slight tactile feel of tannins on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Aria di Caiarossa is very generous and rich with full-bodied flavours of black fruits, sweet spices and cinnamon. The oak needs another year or two to integrate. Black fruits are the main protagonists, but baking chocolate and a hint of crushed limestone play a supporting role." Wine Advocate
"The Aria di Caiarossa 2020 is dark, fleshy and very expressive. Black cherry, mocha, new leather, liquorice, spices and lavender are beautifully enhanced. Resonant and wonderfully deep, the Aria 2020 is showing very well today. Silky tannins round off the whole in style." Vinous
"This fascinating blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Grenache has a real minerality. It exudes light balsamic notes with hints of cardamom and chocolate. Juicy and succulent, with flavours of dark cherries and plums, silky tannins and a juicy background. It comes from the estate's youngest vineyards, planted at an altitude of 200-350 metres." Decanter
"The nose offers a captivating mix of nuanced fruit flavours, from Bing cherries to rhubarb and pomegranate, and then a fresh herbal note, with mint and fennel. On the palate, the tannins lead to dark fruits that finally explode in a powerful, peppery finish. A reminder that Bolgheri is not the only part of Maremma worth plundering, especially in this price range." Wine Enthusiast
"It is fresh and crisp with notes of red and dark berries as well as spices and citrus peel. Medium to full-bodied. It is polished and velvety, with balanced acidity and a polished finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
This Riserva is only made available each year in very small quantities to hand-picked specialist retailers and top restaurants. Brilliant ruby red colour. Fine raspberry and floral notes dominate the spicy nose. Very juicy on the palate, tannins and acidity are well integrated. Riecines Riserva has length and suppleness right through to the long fruity finish. The elegance and fine melting texture are impressive. Once again, this is Sangiovese at the top level that Riecine is known for! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby colour with garnet-red reflections. A savoury nose with ripe fruit of cranberries and blackberries. Fruity-sweet and juicy on the palate, opens up with a wide arc, powerful, right into the slightly salty final." Falstaff
"A pure cherry note graces this juicy red, with accents of rose, strawberry, earth and Mediterranean herbs. This turns more linear as it focuses on the mineral-infused aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Cinnamon and balsamic notes permeate redcurrant with a core of pomegranate and cranberry on the palate. The tannins are quite compact and the acidity is lively, giving an edgy expression in the moment." Decanter
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva is a real stunner with its remarkable depth and textural resonance. Black cherry, spices, mocha and dried herbs are some of the many notes that unfold in the glass. A wine with substance and presence, the 2020 offers plenty of intensity, but is by no means over the top." Vinous
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva has notes of cherry liqueur and sweet crème de cassis on the nose, and the mouthfeel reflects some of the viscous nature of these descriptions. However, this pretty wine also shows depth and varietal clarity, supported by a medium structure." Wine Advocate
"Sandalwood and cherry with some orange peel. Medium body. Fine tannins. Crisp and bright. Lively and delicious. A hint of orange peel and brightness on the finish." James Suckling
"Riserva di Riecine, from a selection of the estate's best plots, clay-limestone soils and pure Sangiovese. On the nose, notes of red cherries, mentholated notes and nutmeg, with hints of eucalyptus. Juicy mouthfeel, with iodised tannins, a fruity, mentholated finish and persistence." Luca Gardini

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Attractive, juicy Riserva with classic flavours of sour cherries, sour cherries, dark forest fruits and a subtle hint of liquorice. Elegant fruit and delicate structure on the palate, compact, well-integrated tannins. It walks the fine line between elegance and power, with the firm structure and lively acidity ensuring that it is concentrated and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby colour with a dark core. Dark and multi-layered on the nose, black cherry, saddle leather, roasted flavours, also balsamic notes. On the palate with present, tightly woven tannins, compact fruit, lively acidity, complex and long, great." Falstaff
"Deep, dark ruby red colour. Brooding, concentrated sweet cherry fruit nose. Lots of juicy, concentrated cherry fruit with layers of enveloping tannins. Animating, tannic and tangy." Jancis Robinson
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2021 is a classic Brancaia wine. Dark, resonant and multi-layered in the glass, the 2021 shows remarkable depth of style. Hints of mocha, new leather and brown spices come together in this decidedly lush, structured Riserva." Vinous
"Clean and polished, the 2021 opens with mocha-coloured notes of red cherry, cedar and balsamic wood. The palate reveals darker fruit tones with a hint of truffle. The bright fruit character matches the soft tannins, while a creamy texture is countered by crisp acidity. Beautiful structure for medium-term ageing." Decanter
"In the bottle with the wine-red label, the Brancaia 2021 Chianti Classico Riserva from organic cultivation is subtle at first glance with spicy aromas of dried fruit, black cherries and floral earth. I have the feeling that this sample doesn't quite realise its full potential, but that could be because it needs more time in the bottle. A mild, medium-bodied mouthfeel is topped with balanced acidity." Wine Advocate
"A blend of black cherry, blackberry and floral flavours is underlined by a firm structure in this fleshy red wine. Intense and balanced, with a lingering mineral aftertaste. The finish feels crisp and offers a light tactile sensation on the palate." Wine Spectator
"Very attractive interplay of dark berries, chocolate and roasted spices with good concentration and depth. Bright, focussed and very juicy, with medium body and consistent acidity. Flavourful and crisp." James Suckling

“Vigneto di Campolungo” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018 (BIO)
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto di Campolungo offers an interesting potpourri of ripe fruit, including blackberry, cassis and small wild strawberries, rounded off by a warm woody spice. Modern and polished on the palate, with a beautiful fruity centre, it is multi-layered, with plenty of pressure and length and balanced tannins as it progresses. The vines grow at an altitude of around 500 metres, which gives this cru a wonderful freshness and plenty of drinkability. Should gain in elegance with further bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright cherry aroma with liquorice and star anise. Smooth texture, firm tannins, shows good typicity with good length." Decanter
"On the nose, the fresh sweetness of cherries and strawberries is balanced by the lightly bitter astringency of orange jam and fennel. The fruit sweetens and deepens on the palate thanks to a rich, full mocha flavor, but strict, imposing tannins and acid preserve order." Wine Enthusiast
"With flavours of black cherry, plum, chocolate and iron, this rich red wine impresses across the board. Fresh and refined, with velvety tannins that support the long-lasting aftertaste, while notes of eucalyptus and tobacco enhance the complex finish." Wine Spectator
"The organically grown Lamole di Lamole 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto di Campolungo draws its fruit from a long row of vineyards stretching from the hill of Lamole towards Greve and orientated towards the sunset. This wine is creamy and medium-bodied with blackberry jam, tarry spice and earthy orris roots." Wine Advocate

“Pian del Ciampolo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2022
Pian del Ciampolo is a graceful and very aromatic Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino - very much in the style of Montevertine. It has a powerful personality on the nose with lots of tart cherry, raspberry and wild plum, followed by a beautiful herbal flavour on the palate. Its elegant structure and the wonderful interplay of acidity and tannin ensure a beguiling drinking flow and a terrific length. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pian del Ciampolo 2022 is soft, juicy and ready to go. The harvestwill find a lot of immediacy in this red wine made from Sangiovese. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, rose petals and earthy notes are pushed forward nicely. The 2022 is a fine Pian del Ciampolo." Vinous
"The Montevertine 2022 Pian del Ciampolo is shy at first and needs some time to open up. You can recognise notes of wild berries, redcurrants, peat moss and tin cans. It has a soft texture with silky tannins." Wine Advocate
"A crunchy and fresh red with strawberry, orange peel and cedar aromas and flavors. It’s medium- to light-bodied with a vivid finish. Drink and enjoy." James Suckling

“550” Merlot Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
From the highest corner of the Vigna Istine (the name 550 refers to the metres above sea level), surrounded by cool forests, this balanced Merlot is vinified in concrete before spending around 15 months in lightly toasted tonneaux. Due to the cool location, it is - unusually - harvested after the Sangiovese, so that it has more time to mature on the vine. The result is a wine with a fine tannic structure and juicy, ripe blue fruit, with a hint of red fruit and some coffee notes leading to a long, graceful finish. Production is 2,600 bottles per vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 550 is 100% Merlot planted in Vigna Istine, in Radda, at an elevation of 550 meters. Dark and sumptuous in the glass, with terrific energy, the 2021 captures all the pedigree of the year. Blackberry, sage, menthol, licorice and chocolate abound. This sumptuous, decidedly Tuscan Merlot hits all the right notes." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016
Beautiful and very well-balanced red wine from the three main historical areas of Montalcino, which have different geoclimatic characteristics due to their different slopes and altitudes - and thus ensure a unique balance between freshness and structure, body and elegance.
Ruby red in colour with garnet reflections, opens immediately with a rich, complex nose. Initially dark cherry, chinotto orange and violet. It then opens up to broader, more complex notes of blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon and chocolate with a subtle menthol finish. This juicy 2016 Brunello di Montalcino offers plenty of energy and brightness, conveyed by the cherry fruit and wild berry flavours at its core. The primary fruit is surrounded by spice, grilled herbs and floral earth. The natural complexity, purity and depth of the Sangiovese grape comes into its own in this dream vintage and especially in this Brunello. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, noble ruby red colour with a radiant core. Open-hearted and inviting nose, slightly fleshy, with nuances of ripe sour cherries, pepper and raspberries, with an aftertaste of rose hips. Very polished and balanced on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, opens up beautifully on the palate, slightly salty finish." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red colour. Senescent fruit sweetness, beautiful ripe cherry and undergrowth. There is also an obvious oak sweetness on the palate, but there is still a delicacy here, perhaps because the tannins are so fine and relatively light. Elegant, dry, delicate, long, even juicy." Jancis Robinson
"Bringing together grapes from diverse vineyards throughout Montalcino, this midweight, almost-approachable Brunello is focused and vibrant. It takes a bit of coaxing on the nose then divulges sage, orange rind and fennel. Brisk acidity and chalky tannins meet crisp red currant and cranberry, cleansing the palate nicely." Decanter
"The Brunello di Montalcino 2016 has something spicy and slightly rustic about it, which I find very attractive. Baked black cherries, balsamic spice and a hint of animal musk create a beguiling spectacle. The textures are silky smooth, with cooling acids and salty minerals lifting the expression as they give way to tart red fruits. The tannins increase and slowly dry out the senses, but even today the 2016 is a pleasure to drink, coming across as both youthfully structured and savoury and fresh. It is a blend from the vineyards of Val di Suga in Montalcino." Vinous
"Aromas of iron, blood and cherry introduce this soft and lively red wine, while an abundance of dark fruit - black cherry and blackberry - lingers on the palate. The finish is characterised by dark, chocolaty tannins." Wine Spectator
"Dusty notes of crushed gravel and dried tea leaves are the prelude to aromas of fresh mushrooms and hints of fennel. Spicy mushrooms and olives, followed by firm, fine-grained tannins. Structured and full-bodied." James Suckling

“Villa Donoratico” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
The grapes for Villa Donoratico, like those for Bolgheri Superiore, have recently been sourced from the estate's very best vineyards. Immediately after hand-picking, they are rigorously selected by 12 employees at 2 sorting tables and the ageing in 500-litre tonneaux ensures even more elegance and finesse. The qualitative gap to Argentiera, the winery's flagship, has thus been noticeably reduced and the wine sets new standards in the entire Bolgheri DOC.
Rich, sparkling ruby colour. Fine, subtle nose of redcurrant and herbal spice, some rosewood and fresh forest floor. Very complex and multi-layered on the palate, revealing more facets with every sip, the well-articulated fruit core is flanked by a fine-meshed tannin and leads into a very elegant, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very dark in the glass, almost black. The nose is very powerful. Juicy black cherry, plus preserved blackberry and a hint of blueberry. Very inviting. A little lighter in the mouth, again lots of fruit and spicy notes, with an elegant woody flavour. Crisp tannins and acidity, both well interwoven. Powerful without being heavy, animating and with good drinking flow. Goes well with game dishes." Vinum
"A dense red with flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, cedar and chocolate, supported by slightly grainy tannins. Rather chunky overall, but with a nice length." Wine Spectator
"The nose starts with black cherries and blackberries, but eventually notes of salt and pepper come to the fore. On the palate, the cherries linger, with chocolate complementing the rich sweetness, before a complex finish of heat, spice and dusty chalk. The tannins linger while the acidity sings." Wine Enthusiast
"Dense ruby colour with a brightening rim. Spicy on the nose, with aromas of white pepper, blackcurrant, cocoa and light tobacco notes. Velvety and soft on the palate, with firm tannins and rich fruit, with a long finish." Falstaff
"Attractive Cabernet-based red wine with aromas of redcurrants and berries and undertones of lead pencil and spices. Herbs. Full-bodied with walnut, chocolate and fruit flavours. Very fine tannins with a finesse and beauty." James Suckling
"The Argentiera 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Villa Donoratico has a forward mouthfeel with plenty of immediate intensity in the mid-palate. The wine is articulate and generous with thick layers of black fruits, stewed plums, sweet earth and pressed blackberries. You get everything you want from a Bolgheri Rosso. You even get a wine that tastes more like a Bolgheri Superiore." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO)
When we discovered this winery by chance in the early 2000s, we were struck at first sight by the modesty and purism of the Biliorsi family. This is still the case today, here they remain true to themselves and their philosophy and in good years bring just 10,000 bottles of a "somewhat different" Brunello into the cellar.
Deep dark ruby red, on the nose small black berries, cedar wood, forest floor and a fine nutty roasted aroma. The palate is complex and powerful, with earthy-rustic nuances and a complex mixture of dark fruit, precious woods, a fine plum note and some chocolate. Very intense, impulsive and long and not at all for lovers of polished standard wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"Presents itself with a fine cherry, floral aroma; juicy on the palate, the acidity perfectly integrated, nice polish, elegant and with good length." Vinum
"The organic Fornacina 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and savory wine with black fruit, exotic spice, rusty nail and dry rose petal. There are hints of mild astringency, but the tannins are on track for near or medium-term integration. In fact, this wine is best consumed in the next couple of years while those dark fruit tones are still intact. Exactly 8,188 bottles were released." Wine Advocate
"Savory and a little reductive to begin with but then opens up with aromas of wet earth, oregano, sweet berries, cherries and licorice. Medium-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Well structured throughout with an expressive finish. Better from 2024." James Suckling

“Bianco di Riecine” Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
The grapes for this exciting, mash-fermented Trebbiano come from the vineyards that the Dunkleys (former owners of the winery) found when they arrived in Gaiole in Chianti. They are destemmed and fermented in Cocciopesto amphorae. Once fermentation is complete, most of the wine remains on the skins for six months, while a small portion (10-15%) is aged without skins for the same amount of time in new Liters tonneaux. Rich orange-yellow. In the slightly reductive bouquet notes of stewed apple, citrus and pear. Very fruity on the palate, with a striking acidity and a beautiful tannin. Medium-bodied and long, very exciting and drinky! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Bianco di Riecine is aged in amphorae. The 2021 is rich and phenolic, with an abundance of orange peel and hazelnuts. Dried herbs and chamomile complete the layers in this dense, phenolic white wine. It is a wine to be enjoyed on its own merits, as it is not intended to express any regional or varietal character." Vinous
"Sparkling straw yellow with greenish reflections. In the nose nobly restrained, stony, some citrus fruit as well as a hint of white peach. On the palate also lemony, straightforward and fresh, salty, refreshing acidity, medium-long, salty final." Falstaff
"A Trebbiano with skin contact, dried apples and lemon peel, walnuts and a touch of flor. It is full but not heavy, with an agile and crisp character. A hint of beeswax with dried fruit." James Suckling

“Eneo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019
Eneo is supposed to be the "Grand Vin" of Montepesolo, the Italian answer to the globalisation of wines. And Eneo can do that. The blend of indigenous grape varieties, with Sangiovese and Montepulciano clearly in the foreground, unmistakably expresses its terroir and is understood worldwide in the process. SUPERIORE.DE
"Blackcurrant and cherry aromas with fresh flowers and orange peel follow through to a medium to full body with ultra-fine tannins that are integrated beautifully in the wine, leaving a bright, focused impression." James Suckling
"The 2019 Eneo is a wine of notable focus and drive. Black cherry, leather, tobacco, incense, smoke, dried herbs and gravel infuse the 2019 with striking layers of complexity. Firm but well-integrated tannins give the wine energy as well as proportion. There's a ton to like, but readers need to be patient, as the 2019 needs time to soften. This is an especially dark, at times somber, vintage of Eneo." Vinous
