Wines from Tuscany

The vineyards are located 15 metres above sea level, facing west, on river sediment soils with a sandy texture. The coastal sun shines through in the bright straw-yellow nuances of this wine. The fresh bouquet has notes of lemon, freshly cut green apples and hints of mint and sage; these Mediterranean impressions are also found on the palate. Blend of Sangiovese (approx. 80%) and Petit Verdot from the south-west slope in small quantities < 5,000 bottles. The soil has a brown colour, a clayey-loamy texture, limestone slabs and a rounded skeleton. Only the Sangiovese matures for a few months in French oak, after which it is blended and matured in the bottle. Ruby red in colour with violet reflections. Intense aroma with characteristic notes of ripe fruit such as plum, blackberry and cherry. The flavour is soft and full, with a good structure and sweet, well-balanced tannins. SUPERIORE.DE

The grapes for Maurizio Castelli's new, crisp and fresh white wines come from a vineyard on Monte Bottigli, a "forteto" known to the locals for its wild and impenetrable nature. They ripen with a view of the panorama of the Tuscan archipelago and ideally embody the maritime character of the Maremma.
