Amarone Calcarole is only produced in small quantities in the best vintages and has officially been allowed to bear the label Riserva since the 2015 vintage. The single vineyard of the same name is located above Villa di Rovereti in the heart of Negrar in the Valpolicella Classico region. The vineyard offers ideal conditions for great red wines due to its particularly warm climate and stony soil as well as its south-western exposure. The grapes are 100% dried in small crates in the historic rooms of Pojega. A wonderfully intense balsamic wine with memories of rosemary oil, damp forest floor and dried ginger. On the palate, complex berry flavours and a wonderful depth, Calcarole is thoroughly masculine, energetic and powerful, with tightly woven tannins and clearly structured. SUPERIORE.DE

Tenuta Missoj is a small vineyard in Mizzole with just 3.5 hectares of vines and is owned by the Campagnola family. The vineyards extend at an altitude of 200 metres on a well-ventilated and exposed hill where the grapes can reach perfect and complete ripeness. The grapes for this Amarone Riserva come from single vineyards and the wine is aged for 24 months in new barriques made of Fleur de Quintessence oak in medium to lightly toasted Allier oak with very fine grain. Further ageing of the wine takes place in the bottle for another 12 months.

Deep ruby red colour with garnet reflections. Developed, fragrant, spicy bouquet with hints of ripe fruit, cherry and vanilla. Intense, soft and pervasive taste, fine tannin structure. For the first time, the winery presents a small amount of its matured Amarone flagship "Calcarole" from the very good 2011 vintage as a so-called "late release". 1997 saw the birth of Bradisismo, named after the geological event that led to the formation of the Colli Berici. It is a successful symbiosis of the intense, concentrated flavour of ripe Cabernet Sauvignon cherries and the lively, spicy notes of Carmenere. With its bouquet of small dark berries, spices, pepper and chocolate, it is a wonderfully inexpensive alternative to the great Bordeaux blends or Supertuscans. On the palate, it has a velvety texture, with a mix of dark fruits, cherries, floral notes and fine tannins that glide seamlessly over the palate. Deep, long finish and very good ageing potential. The small location near the church of San Lorenzo is a small valley surrounded by unspoilt nature - a mystical place where monks lived for centuries. The microclimate in this area is unique. The vineyard benefits from the influence of the surrounding forest, which, in addition to supplying silty-clay nutrients, ensures important temperature fluctuations, so that it is often very hot during the day and very cool in the evening.

These unique conditions allow the fruit to ripen optimally and give off generous layers of black, plummy flavours, blackberries and blackcurrants. The wine is immediately soft and generous in texture and spans a wide range of ripe red and blue fruits without losing any of its energy. The long and colourful final with its superbly integrated acidity leaves the mouth watering, while sweet tannins, black raspberry and inner flowers linger for a long time. Maternigo means "mother's land" and is also the name of one of the Tedeschi family's vineyards. The vineyards cover around 33 hectares in two municipalities, Tregnago and Mezzane di Sotto. The new Cru-Amarone Riserva Maternigo is only produced in the best years and its grapes come exclusively from the Barila vineyard. This single vineyard was selected after careful zoning and characterisation of the soil, which is characterised by very low vigour and consequently produces grapes rich in structure.

This gives it its own complex and aromatic character, which is characterised by a high concentration of natural aromatic components in the grapes. This complexity creates an intense bouquet of red fruits and Mediterranean flowers. These notes are echoed on the palate, along with subtle hints of eucalyptus, which give the wine freshness and at the same time hints of sweet spices.
